What is the difference?
Please take this with humor - this thread is not intended to make people do big election speaches. But, as I see USA as being probably the second most inportant nation in the world*, I thought it would be interesting to find out about how elections and debate is happening in USA. I went to these to webpages:
http://www.johnkerry.com/index.html
http://www.georgewbush.com/
Try and notice the similatities (I am talking lay out here). The joke gets funnier though. Try watch their videos. You can do it from here:
http://www.johnkerry.com/rapidresponse/w_wrong.html
http://www.georgewbush.com/
Take a good look at the lay out of the pop up windows - especially, if you try to see a second video from Bush - and compare it to the Kerry lay out.
What is the difference? I mean, if they have the same web probaganda people, why should they ahve the same advisors too ... and the same ward-rope (It apears, that their wives share tastes in clothes). Could it really be, that biggest difference between those two people is ... 5 inches?
Anyways, I am just making fun of a deadly important happening, which will probably have great influence on world politics.
* I believe China has the first place, though they at the present time tend to mind their own bussiness.

Probably the best thing to do, if anyone wants to see the difference between John Kerry and George Bush, is to dig up their history, see what Kerry did in the last 40 years and what has Bush done in the same period.

I'm gonna fight for tax cut for the middle class bucause I think it's very important that we discuss the tax cut for the middle class. Now when tax cut for the middle class is tax cut for the middle class, then tax cut for the middle class will become tax cut for the middle class, where as tax cut for the middle class, despite is being the tax cut for the middle class prior to the tax cut for the middle class, is actually a tax cut for the middle class.

Makes me think of that Simpson's episode where Kodos and Krang are running for president:
"it doesn't matter which of us you vote for, either way you are all doomed!"
...or something to that effect.
Sorry Bingo, I know you hate the Simpson's references, and the election is no joke, I just can't imagine how you can actually decide which group of people it is that you should vote for!

Here's what I think of the Democrats and their lawyers and their 5" genitalia:
John Kerry has no b*lls
Wait, wait... (zipping up flame-retard suit)... OK, I'm done.

Man, when I heard that ending first on the two Bush probaganda movies about the bad bad Kerry, I thought it was really funny - in an unintended way ofcoarse. When I then went to the Kerry site, which is so alike the Bush site and has a video pop-up, which is soooooo similar, and has movies about the bad bad Bush, and he ended the video clip with the same sentece, I didn't know, if I should laugh or be scared anymore.
You REALLY made me laugh out loud, when you said that sentence.

Apart from having the second biggest population (and therefor has huge intern importance), I really believe, that China is the most powerfull nation in the World. A political commentator noted a couple of years ago, that China has a strong feature, which western countries lack: They are capable of making very long term strategies. They are readdy to accept a period of less than optimal conditions, if they believe that it will help them in the long run - which could be even decades. Have you ever seen western politicians with this kind of guts? In Denmark we also have elections every 4 years (sometimes quicker), and it is so obvious how much bad that does to the politicians ability to take decisions, which will give their rulership bad figures for the 4 years period - even if they can see, that we will benefit from it in the long term. I guess, it is one weakness about democracy.
About looking at the long term history of those two men, I really think it would take an enormous amount of effort to assess the many sources of information. I have the preconception, that most of the material will likely be very presented in a (very) biased way. My interest in the homepages was mainly from a sociologic point of view (my girlfriend is doing her masters in sociology at the moment). In particular, I was interested in the ethics (or lack of such) in the probaganda. What happens in USA (and how it happens) usually influences the way things happen in Denmark some years later.
On another note, I read some stuff about Abraham Maslow yesterday, and it got me thinking today:
a) Bush is definitely emphasizing on the second level of Maslows five levels of needs. b) I think Kerry emphasizes more on the third level.
Don't take my judgements for too much though, I don't know too much about Kerry.

Having a large population under strict controll I don't think amounts to a big international importance.

I think the most powerful nation in the World is the one that poseses the highest technological knowledge (and I don't mean necessarily US).
Regarding Maslow, I don't think there is a scale for Bush.
