He's playing vinyl and final scratch (computer system that syncs digital files to timecode etched on vinyl so u can control the mix just as with vinyl). Tracks are entirely produced beforehand (5-8mins long on average). Some people will also use cd's to mix unreleased material (which is why he's using final scratch).
PFM has a decent amount of material he's written himself and has access to material from many artists on dnb labels like Good Looking.

So there is no real-time drum fill playing going on? Are all the drum tracks composed before hand? That's what's got me baffled the most. I thought maybe there's a dedicated player that was set up to play loops in real time...Of course the timing of the guy on the keyboard has to be impeccable throughout the performance but that's what performing is about, eh?
