yeah, the icon is still there after bootup, but not active - I can't click on it to load Scope (or exit).

Something I've noticed as I test my Scope V5 setup, is that it crashes out when I try to load VRC -128 and VRC-S ? They are located in Devices/plugins/...
It doesn't matter when I try to load them, either independantly or within a project.

Before I report, I'd just like to check if this is something that is just isolated to my particular setup? and to see if perhaps there is a simple fix?

I haven't done any changes in configuration or anything in the past couple days, and suddenly it stopped working.

Scope 4.5 is turned off in startup.

I'm wondering if this is part of the possible registry fix?

Greg
not sure if it's the same thing, but I sometimes have the problem in 4.5 that on computer startup, Scope seems to load but doesn't really. The tray icon will show but it doesn't allow you to open the Scope window and Scope isn't actually started (correctly) since audio won't work. This has also happened to me once in v5 so far. I haven't been able to trace this to any specific condition. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and as you say you have to terminate the Scope process with ctrl-alt-delete and then restart Scope. It happens maybe 1 in 20 times I start my PC.

Janni wrote:I sometimes have the strange problem that i can't do my routing in the project window...
To solve the problem I have to do routings via the LiveBar or quit scope and reboot. Reloading the project doesn't help.
Then everything is fine again... I really don't know what causes this but it must be something like
loading devices into the project...
I try to use only v5 devices, so far I'm only using space f's notepad and tuner and that cool simple mixer (see below...).
But I don't think it's related to those devices...
Another little old "bug" is, cabling between STM-Auxes is invisible after Project reload until you click on the connected device.
Anyone else here got those problems?
That SpaceF I/O device looks very handy. Is this still available Mehdi?

For me, with scope 4, it has on the odd occasion loaded the icon next to the clock yet the routing window hasnt displayed. I used to have to crash out of it then reload until I figured out a workaround - it seems to have got confused thinking it has loaded correctly as the "show" option is greyed out when right clicking the icon. The "hide" option isnt greyed out though so I told it to hide - the show option then became available and when I clicked it, et voila - it displays and works fine.

Try that.

Anyone noticed an issue with noise generated when using 3rd party plug surfaces?

Loaded SpaceF FB5, Colosuss and TubeTaper last night and if I move a fader or rotate some of the knobs I get noise at the output?

This doesn't happen with any of the stock S|C devices.

Appreciate if someone could confirm.

No problem here (just tested on the FB5 only).
Could you please test this for me, because i don't have colossus.
- assign a CC to a fader of FB5 (or anything else that makes noise).
- close the FB5 device panel
- make the fader move with your controller or a midi track in your sequencer.

I would like to know if the noise still happens when the surface is closed
- if there is noise when the urface is open, and no noise when the surface is closed, then there is something i can do

Found that there is a great improvement with graphics.
I used to get glitches when I opened folders, but it happens only when CPU is being used a lot now.

hmmm... sure your left mouse button is OK? i cant remember seeing this bug (or hearing about it) but knobs will move to 12o'clock if doubleclicked, thats normal... or are am i misunderstanding something?

(hang on, maybe you mean that the knob sometimes miss "dead centre" when you are doing a manual sweep? in that case i wouldnt bother, its a non-issue explained earlier)

i have written about it in the past.
it is a pot movement1 problem.
pot mvmt2 is ok.

my mouse is ok.

haven't you noticed?

lets say there is a knob turned full clockwise left. then try to move it just a litle right.
what happens? it goes first instantly to position 12 o'clock and then goes to the right position you have grabbed it.
in that case if it is a volume knob... it increases the volume instantly.

big big issue for me because pot movent 2 i am oblidged to use is not that convenient

I never had problems with the 4.5 tray icon for years now, and V5 icon initially worked OK the first couple of days, and now is unusable.

I still have to delete Scope from resources and start it from the application directly.

there's probably something timing out during boot.

possibly backing up the Scope folder and removing all Scope entries and registry entries and reinstalling the software will help....you can use the backed up folders to restore the original configuration...
