Shroomz~> wrote:1. No I meant would the process for current sdk users be the same as it currently is with a Pro board whereby you buy the board then sign an nda & get the sdk or would a current sdk user not need to go through that process again after buying an XITE. I would need to know that I can make my own plugins for XITE before I would buy it. That ties in with your question in point 3. If a current sdk user buys an XITE, they would obviously need the new atoms to make full use of it.
2. That ties in with my last sentence regarding needing the new atoms to make full use of XITE.
3. Same as point 2.
4. ah, ok.
1) You'll have to ask SC about that - I have no idea.
2 & 3) If you want to make full use of the XITE system, you'll need to use specific XITE atoms - because of the memory system, SIMD etc. Those modules would not be compatible with the current boards.

I know one thing, if I can't transfer some of the SDK stuff from Shroomz and others, I will be re doing many presets and projects.
SC should be glad 3rd Party and SDK guys kept us interested and alive with new and unique creations. Otherwise, I would have bailed this popsicle stand long ago.
I can say this, I bought this knowing it was in it's current state, just a GIANT Scope card, anything else is icing on the cake.
I am more gung-ho than ever, and expect a decade worth of fun perfoming with it.
Just knowing 18 ADSP-21369's w/ onboard RAM was plenty of information.
And yes meeting JBowen and playing Solaris and XITE-1 was extreme fun.
Maybe our European brethren can bring us info on the updates from Messe and as many fun pics also. I plan on having both before then.

I'm looking forward to all those cheap Scope boards when Xite-1 is released....I wouldn't mind another 15 DSPs.....so I'm not too bothered about all the facts on xite-1....way too piricey for me...(compared to cheapo old boards

Delays and Reverbs will utilize the additional onboard RAM.

But it is remarkable indeed that neither Xite nor solaris has generated so much 'videos' or 'reviews' like UAD and Virus and C5

Those guys must keep something to say at musikmess no ?

Wow that is amazing.
So no slipping beat sync with scope delays anymore ?!!!
All is handled with onboard memory.
It is more about ulli and stuff a.f.a.i.k.....
slipping synch is a developper's problem to solve, not a hardware issue....a.f.a.i.k.....

Warp69 wrote: I dont believe that Scope DP is supported anymore, therefor we have only one developing platform SDK.
I can confirm to you it is not supported anymore...
SDK allows more things basically anyway.... (like loading exotic dsps, more midi and other modules, Scope 4/4.5 conforming UI (dynamic bitmaps and such...)...

I totally support SC current policy of releasing the best they can, and that's long and difficult... a.f.a.i.k....

it's not at all surprising that the big magazines and such haven't said much. those entities live to serve their biggest advertisers.
July means 2008, the copy is old, i hope this doesn't take until July, but if it does, it does. S/C doesn't have as much control over this as you might think. they ARE working dilligently. i've seen that firsthand. kwild, no soup for you.
yes, there IS ram for reverbs and delays in the box!
