Stanislaw Lem he wouldn't reject it.
There are some Polish films featuring fragments in a foreign language and the dialogs are translated by a man/speaker!

true! so true.
i'm swedish, i have NO idea how everyday life looks like in poland, australia or even in norway for that matter.
i found it amusing cause until my cyprus journey i had never seen/heard anything like it.
if you Sam would taste snus (tobacco under your upper lip) or surströmming (fish that's old and smells/tastes like crap) you would probably have a good laugh and wonder "what the heck are those idiot-swedes up to?
so i mean no offence! as you probably know. i'm just amused about the differences a few hundreds of kilometers make.
swedes, poles, germans, finns, brits, danes, dutchs, greeks.. we're probably all born as the same person, it's just what's around us that defines what is "normal" or not.

I haven't thought even a second you offended me
I was in Sweden in 1990 and I found people get used to a bit lower temperatures - I mean at 18, 17 celsius people wore shorts and t-shirts, while I was thrilling like in cold, hehe.

this snus thing sounds like snuff to me, you just don't know what to do with it
but smelly fish, yuck, hehe
as for dub vs lector thing, just think about talking to someone who's language you don't understand. what would you prefer, that someone translates for you, or that the guy you talk to starts talkin in your language in ventriloquist, not quite synced way?
but of course, subtitles are ultimate way, no contest
