I think that I personally make some of the best beer in the Lower Mainland. Hops, hops hops. My actual job is making wine and beer for a living.

Except for parks and weather, Canada doesn't have any of that. And the weather is all bad. Especially Margaret Atwood. She's a bloody hailstorm.

My sister sent me pics of Gaudi's architecture recently though. Good lord I've been living under a rock. Gaudi rules!

Flying Dog Pale Ale

Nelson Brewery's Paddywhack IPA.

Tree Brewing Hophead

Old Yale Brewing Co. Pale Ale

Anything from Sailor Hagars in North Van, especially the Bengal.

Almost any beer from Portland, Oregon. Double Bastard is absolutely stunning.

You should be able to get most of these over there in Victoria.

Geez I've never heard of any of those. Except the Tree beer and *maybe* Double Bastard... Is that a porter?

Incidentally I spent a week in Portland last year and couldn't find any local ales. Everything was from California! They do have amazing bookstores though.

Best thinker who drank great beer: Soren Kierkegaard.

Best wine ever drank while experiencing natural wonders: Il Musaico, some cheapo brand from Toscani that is no longer any good. Who knows, maybe it was never any good!

Great artists and the beer they drank: Bernini drank Guinness, according to historical documents.

Composers who sound best after drinking lots of beer: Holst, R. Strauss. They only sound good after beer IMO.

Best beer cooling methods used while camping in parks: Leave it outside up at Mt Garibaldi at the end of August. It will be frozen by morning.

Best beer drinking weather: Too many variables, cannot decide.

Worst composer to listen to with a hangover: John Cage.

Hey, all those beers are BCLCB listed, so your local liquor store has to bring them in if you ask for them.

i hate to ruin a good beer thread but believe it or not I actually drink "old english 800 brand" for the taste. yum yum i found it's an aquired taste and i can't even stand any other brand of malt liquor or beer except guiness.

that is so weird, i just had my first cooper's sparkling ale about a week ago, truly a fine beer indeed!
