MOVknott
Martin, we can't check this out in action right now because were working on some new custom gui elements, but from looking at the changes you've made I'd like to make a few comments about the interface (hope you don't mind).
Firstly, I think it would look better overall if the 3 surfaces were all the same size & forming a uniform block when all open. The other thing I'd like to see is some knobs (the english word for what you call 'potis') for controlling the Q settings. There's also perhaps a need for some more parameter labelling if space permits.
Overall, I think the changes you've made have improved the layout by making it less cluttered & more coherent, so good job!!!

Hi Shrooms!
Thanks for the comments - they're allways very welcome!!!
Now I have the first special custom wish for you. I'd like to have a knob which leaves free the area in in the middle (fitting to my beloved black knobs in MOVknott), so it would be very easy to make (totally inovative) knobs for Q-settings! It would need nearly no more space and I think it'll look fine so see the values in the middle. I think i could use a standard one for that purpose too (setting numbers on top), but a ring-knob would something quite new.

No problem. So just to clarify, you want a version of the black knob with no cap, just see-through in the center. The only problem there would be that it would no longer have a locator line because that was on the cap. Let me know if that's what you want & I'll try to make it tonight.
Also check the gui elements thread later tonight if you have time. I'll be posting some ultra modern knob designs with a cool new look that I've been working on today.

I'm not convinced either. I think it would look better with the parameter value separate just like the gain & freq' ones above & below. It probably makes sense to keep the surface design more uniform, even if it mains rearanging the whole panel to make space (i'm presuming it's lack of space that gave you the idea for this look)

just brainstorming here, but maybe u can use one of the LEDs (or a modded version of fthem with a "." where it fits? it can be treated like the modwheel function, u click on it and drag the mouse up or down to adjust values... would put some "flat space" to the surface as well, looking less cluttered.
Next try...
Hey piddi, nice idea. I will surely use it somewhere.
I just noticed that you're from Bergen. My girlfriend was in Norway (Oslo) for 1/2 year and we were in Bergen too when I visited her, because I knew a girl there who was in my hometown for some time for studying music. She is an excellent musician: Margarete Aase. We recorded some tracks 6 years ago. Beautiful voice. Musicians are not rare in Bergen, I know, but this voice, once heard, you will not forget.
Never will forget that view from the hills down over Bergen by night too.

One last idea tonight:
Should I take over the Envelope-Follower-settings to the 'visualisation'-panel? I think yes.
I just visited the interface of Sonalksis DQ-1 and didn't like it much ;o).
These dynamic EQs normally seem to have a treshhold level and selective frequency windows for the movement-influece. This can be easily added by inserting a gate & a bandpassfilter before the EFs. So should I add another insert?? I'm not very keen on adding more circuits (gate & filter), but also that would be no problem. On the V-panel there should be some space left for that.
good night

Hi!
I'm open for ideas! Most important thing is the way, not the goal and I like that feeling, having to bring something up in kind of teamwork.
My timing is flexible by the way. I don't need to see this device in the shop in two weeks (up to now, nobody seems to ;o)). I rather think of 2 months, when it's really good.
Actually, to be honest, I don't have much time for it now(although it looks as if). I have some very important work to do till 07.11.. After that there may be some days which I could spend for moveknott.
Speaking 'bout plans...: After clearing up first things with creamware, I'm thinking 'bout raising price for the device to 30€, but this still has to be cleared up in detail with creamware.
For the ones who don't know so far: Shroomz and I are in contact concerning design-questions. So be sure that in the end this device will not only sound great, but look great too!!!
