Wish I was, maybe I would get a free XITE-1. Thinking about it, they do owe me a free XITE-1 for buying all that stuff from a different company called Creamware back in 2000.

hey... this is really smart... our pump of the central heating failed last week.
I'll demand the replacement as a free upgrade because the damn thing was paid already 20 years ago :D

Since going 64 bit on my non DAW laptop, I have found that less than half of the stuff I used to run on 32 bit still runs on 64 bit without having to pay some sort of upgrade.

1) GetitOnCD (cut down wavelabs) doesnt work, now use freeware wave editor but less functionality.
2) Frontpage Web Editor doesnt work, now have to pay for Web Expression.
3) Movie Edit Pro - no free upgrade from 32 bit ver 14 to 64bit ver 17.
4) M/S Office - had to pay for upgrade. If I paid for every upgrade in between I would have anough to buy another Luna at least.
5) pinnacle video capture - had to fork out for a totally new device.
I paid S|C a paltry $250 ( the price of a couple of decent plugs ) to get an V5 upgrade LOADED TO THE HILT with value and that will probably take me to 64bit with no further cost.

In my book, S|C is better than Microshaft, better than Steinborg, better than MAGIX and better than peanuckle at giving the most value moving the user across OS updates, whether you nit pick at individual steps on the way or not. The only one of my vendors that comes close to S|C in terms of value for money along the upgrade path would possibly be Propellerheads - and in the end I pump that thru Scope to make it sound decent anyways

It isnt a direct Compare.. :D But anyway ...
In our Country: If we are paying our Monthly Home Rent & there is something on the Heating failed...Then we have the right to Pay less rent than before.
Because its affect the (health related) Quality of Life. But I Payed for Quality in Life.
Why should I pay for a new SuppaDubba MultiThermicSensor technic related new Central Heating or Air Conditioner , If I can & able to pay ONLY for the "Pump" on the Next Monthly Home Rent?

I must have missed the bit in the Creamware small print that said when you buy the card you get a lifetime of free support, even if a completely different company takes over. Must look more closely next time.

Bro..there is nothing to missing..they sell us a Hardware with functionality.
We payed for Future functionality. and not for a season!!
Just an example of User Friendly Service (crap software but anyway..good Service tradition)

http://flstudio.image-line.com/document ... dates.html

A snippet of that link:
-------------------------------------------
Free FL Studio updates for life!

....
This means you'll receive FL Studio 10, 11, ... absolutely free as we believe you should have the functionality you paid for bugfixed for as long as we develop it.

...Does this mean you will get everything we develop for free from now on ?

Not really: About 90% of the new stuff we do is built in to FL Studio as basic gear (for free) to improve the application and make it more competitive with other software on the market.

When we develop something new, like a synth or other module, we investigate whether we will build it into the main app and include it in the next free update, or offer it as an optional module.

personally i will buy the upgrade.... i don;t know. i am addicted to soniccore? is it because for the last 6 years of my life, everyday i load my default project which gets improved day by day for my needs? is it because i try to grow my creativity combined always with scope?

yea. i live with this piece of s... but many of you go to bed trying to imagine a better routing window configuration for your home or bigger studio.

BUT if someone needed only and only the driver..... they could have privided it for free.
there are some people that are just fine with minimum of scopes gear.

other people might want to use scope in the simplest way. without all the evoution.

so there should be the option.
1. new driver and new software upgrade
2. driver only...free

my guess is that soniccore would have equal sellings this way, if not more, because the persons who forse their system to the limits (like i do) will pay for the latest and more "improved" from soniccore.

but the option for some others... that either they do not want to follow or will follow... but in later time shoud be available.

personally i do not agree with the answer of: hey.. don't want to upgrade? stay with your xp...

another point of view would be to understand these experts of the pro audio factory that they pass a stressing and difficult perid when system os and pc technology is passing from a curent technology(32bit) to a newer one(64bit), and this happens not averey year, causing a shifting balnce situation

So I bought V4.5 update way back when, and now get V5 for free.
See? Free driver update :) - PLUS more devices and snappier performance of the overall Scope system.

Now I get 64-bit and V5.1 for free.

It's been 5 years. Scope running for 11+ years now.

I have no complaints.

Arkadios you are right... & no you are not addicted to Sonic-Core...simply a Scope-Fan like me. Iam just only against the Marketing-Strategical Service of Sonic-Core...Like you said...There must be more Options. Iam not the only one ,who is angry about the Driver issues.
I payed for Functionality.
I wouldnt pay for only the Driver...maybe a little bit.
But 198€ to get the New Drivers? Never.

I love to be a Scoper :D
Everyday after I wake up...mostly Iam kissing my Luna
But it cries and say: I was built for more with my only Basics but not Immunized against new things (Like Multimedia..Vista & related dx10 etc)

Like shot said...
Its sad
... because Iam a Scoper
...and the meaning of "scope" is more limited than before

@siriusbliss..You wanted more than the Drivers...Its ok..for you.
Iam not so professional in Routings of Scope or to make the highest possible of the Hardware
& to buy more new things to bring it to a higher Level.
Iam using nothing of the Scope Plugins actually. Dont know but in XTC Mode it makes more latency if I use the Internal Reverbs..So no Interest in it.
Iam contented with that what I have for my Music Works.
Only want more Compatibility to other OS´s without buying a Cheap Soundcard which would make more issues on other sides (Irq sharing etc).

i think you miss something?
if you bought 4.5 you get scope 5 for free, yes. but 5.1 you get it for free if you have bought scope 5, and recently.

it doesn't work that way. v5 is different code, so it requires a different driver. that's how it is. period.

if you don't want to pay, then don't. someday you may get your personal coding slaves, in which case you'll only have to pay for room and board.

Why did I have to pay microshaft and peanukle for no added functionality ? Dunno but I had to. At least SC threw in about a grands worth of devices and synths.,..

The Yamaha SW1000XG which cost me about the same price as a Luna the year prior wouldn't even run on XP. The MIDEX 8 from Steinbog will never run on 64 bit and cost the same as a Luna also.

Consider yourself lucky you at least have an option.

Sorry too Gary ..but can you Imagine to buy Scope 5 ONLY to make the Soundcard possible to hear some Sound on Vista? Iam not Dumb to Buy it ONLY for this thing.Only for Drivers.
And Iam not interested to the other new things of Scope 5..like above I wrote.
198 € for Vista to hear some SOund...or playing Games with Dx10 & Sound? Forget it.
Luna/Scope IS a Multimedia Soundcard too without needing a second Card with other more Issues.

Like I said . At least you have an option unlike my MIDEX and SW1000XG .. Both the same price and era as a Luna, both from companies 1000 times the size and development resources as SC
