my opinion is, until scope v6 isn't released with all bugs solved, let us (sdk users) solve what is possible to solve.
S|C could give us the unprotected version of the devices, so that issues like the one on the stm mixers can be fixed.
It's not coherent to announce openscope, the new world of music forum, talking about customizing the GUI of the devices, when there is not communication between S|C and the customers.
Customizing the devices is already possible if S|C unlock them to developers.
