I fiddled with the Modular last night and had very little success with the filters of all things.
Could seem to get a reasonable volume or even a reasonable amount of actual filtering.
I also, couldn't work out where the midi in was to control the frequency of an oscillator module.
I'm a clown I tell ya!
I've played on a couple of soft-modulars like SynC Modular and some freeware ones. Even though I bought SynC can you guess how much work I've done with it? You betcha - nothing!
I would like to play with it though as I like the idea of doing some really interesting synths with combination filtering methods. I like having a comb filter in a synth for example.
I'll stop rambling now.
