I Don't think it's the drivers.It must be the audio engine,because I can get warm sounds on SEKD with wav drivers.On 2002-06-29 01:36, six_wax wrote:

Just a thought: if you can get your hands on the VDAT recording package, you can record directly out of your BigMixer (or whatever) into 2-tracks of the VDAT at 32 pristine bits, all within Pulsar/SFP.
Then open up WaveLab and create an interleaved stereo WAV file from the two seperate WAV files that the VDAT created. (Heck, you can actually do this within the STS samplers within Pulsar if you really want!) Top and tail the resulting file, add your dithering and burn.
That way, there is no requirement to provide softare I/O routing between your mix and the mastering package.
In my experience, I don't like to use any form of noise-shaping in the dithering process - it can sometimes add distortion to the sibilence (listen carefully for this!), althought perhaps the Apogee encoding is a lot better? Your call.
This method should at least provide a clean artifact-free transfer from Pulsar (SFP) onto CD.
