The inputs are the only ones that can be unlinked, to my knowledge at least. At least I tried.

Sure, I am temptet at buying it, but I do not want to buy something for $79 that I will not use.

Yes, I have checked the bus window. There is no "link" button, or any button at all, there like in the input window. I guess the reason why they are linked is because they are "buses" and not "ouputs". I hope Ableton will change this. In fact, I will mention this on their forum right now ..

Well, with the v7.11, MIDI editing features are not so bad, even if not complete as with Logic or Cubase. That's why I thought I could talk about Samp in this topic

Yes Sam's MIDI has come along way but it still isn't as feature rich as some of the more dedicated sequencer apps. And yes it will get better.
I guess I'm not in favour of "all in 1 solutions" and Sam from the very start was audio only, if you look at other companies, Cubase, Cakewalk they have bolted audio processing on to a very capable MIDI editor that started way back on an Atari. So for me I will see those apps as MIDI then audio.
And anyway all MIDI has to be rendered to audio eventually so you can burn to CD.

But I guess everyone works differently

If you're looking for midi power, Muzys is damn fine, comparable in many ways to the big guns at a fraction of the cost.

If you are looking for a combination of midi sequencer and VSTi host, Muzys is still damn fine, but I would also look at apps like Massiva and Traktion.

Now if you're looking at a sequencer/host and you're recording your audio to VDAT, Muzys will still be fine. However, if you are bouncing one track at a time the disadvantage is that you can't sync (or at least I haven't worked out how) with VDAT to make all the recordings line up in VDAT.

If you are looking at a host that will stream audio like Cubase and Logic do, Muzys can't do that yet. However, it is a highly sought after feature and is promised for a future release.

Additionally, Muzys is great for live work and would be amazing with SFP as a live kit.

I wouldn't really call Muzys a streamlined sequencer - more a full virtual studio production environment (for me anyway). But I personally think it's composition methodology is great.

Anyway - enough rambling from me on the subject....for a little while anyway.

finally checked to see if music studio2004 worked with xtc mode and....it does!

This Program has midi editing delux.
But audio is only 44,1 kHz.
It is a updated Digital Orchestrator, witch I have used for years.
