In internet forum communication there is a writer (sender) and a reader (receiver). And when you express yourself in that way it goes in one direction -> towards the reader. However, many people here do not want to be the receiver of your anger.

What Kwild said doesn't matter because he's either just lucky or possibly mistaken. It could easily be that someone made a mistake, either Kwild or Ralf, but that doesn't change the actual fact of the matter, which is - Scope 5 is only Free if you have already bought 4.5. So listen to the facts, not people making assumptions.
Everyone in this community has known for many many months that Scope 5 would be a free upgrade if you've already bought 4.5 & would cost x-amount if you haven't, so where's the confusion? The world doesn't stop spinning & start up again in the opposite direction because someone makes a mistake or someone else gets lucky.

I knew it too for months. But i dont want 5.0. I thought it was be able to install only the Drivers from 5.0 for my 4.0 or 4.5 Software. Like other Companies do ..for Free.
But nada.. they made it uncompatible in a knowingly strategical "Pissed me of" Marketing way. So I "must" buy the drivers incl. the Software. Why didnt they do it then directly a next step from 4.0 to 5.0 without the 4.5? It makes one Think. Its pure Marketing and nothing to do with Services. There is no differences between 4.0 and 4.5.
4.5 is a Stopgap.
They can make Big money with New Custumers, which bought for the first Time their Products and need new Softwares and Owners which want more than Drivers. I have Paid in 4.0 for what, if I have the same in 4.5? They want Handling us like new Customers. Its would be the same Problem thing in the Future (Scope 6) for the Users who are happy now with the 5.0 keys. Should we wait for the Scope 5.5 Stopgap to Purchase Scope 6 for "Free Windows 7 Optimized Drivers"?
Another Time Another Thread in the Future with the same Comments like this. I hope my English is not very pure and Understandable.
I am going to make Yoga now....

I am going to make Yoga now....

Most hardware companies don't spend their time updating drivers for free.. they directly say that this or that piece of hardware is outdated and will not have drivers for any new windows release after XXX.. So if your hardware does not support vista, well, buy a newer one. besides, I don't know many hardware companies still making software and drivers for boards that are 10 years old...
Same goes for software.. take sonar, cubendo, and tons of others, and they only support vista starting on a specific release.. if you want to use it in vista, then buy the upgrade.. No free "vista patch" for this or that release.
Besides, at the time, when buying the 4.5 update, you could gete several extra devices, and also either M&M or S&S packs.. So it was not simply "marketing".
Now, with 5.0 you get several great devices, like the reverbs, the channel strip, the surround thang, and a new software (it's not simply a new color scheme).. so it doesn't seem to be a bad deal either. the software, the driver and the hardware are intimately bound, so it's not possible to use the new driver with the old version.
It remembers me of the guy telling that SC (well CW back then) were stupid because they didn't want to let him write a driver for linux.. the guy simply didn't understand that without the software and the plugins, the driver was pure and simply useless.
So do some yoga

and think about it twice.. they're still supporting 10-year old hardware (that still rocks better than most newborns), and give a free update for those who bought the last update from the previous company! and you even get some awesome stuff as a bonus!

- Scope 4.5 was released by Creamware in the 4th quarter of 2005.
- Sonic Core took over the company after it's liquidation over 1 year later.
- Sonic Core continued to support & develop the existing platform.
- More than 2 years after taking over the company and approx' 3 and a half years after Creamware released 4.5, Sonic Core are offering a free upgrade for people who paid for Scope 4.5. This is something that they didn't need to do. They could have asked everyone to pay for the new software & drivers because the 4.5 release was not a Sonic Core release. It seems to me that all they have done is be generous to people who continued to support the platform by purchasing Scope 4.5 from Creamware. It's a good will gesture & one which I'm sure many people will be grateful for.

Not sure what you're saying here as 4.0 was free - unless you were upgrading from some Elektra card or something.

No.I meant about the possibilty for 4.0 Users , because 4.5 hadnt big differences with 4.0 which I purchased before (scope home Platform for Luna).
Only a pair Plugins more, which I dont need and 4.5 was not worth for me to buy......etc.... all about the Reasons what I wrote before..etc
In other words: I had paid for Creamwares Hard work for Scope 4. And it was not worth for me in the earlier Days to purchase for a pair Plugins more in 4.5 to get 5.0 for free.
4.5 was for me only a 4.0 with bonuspack and not really an Upgrade or Update. And Iam not using Vista for Music Producing.Only XP Pro and Iam Happy with it.But Luna still not exists in Vista to hear some Multimedia things (Videos, Direct x 10 Games etc) and this is mostly one of the Reasons: to be able using Multimedia too..to get a Sound with my Luna.Maybe a second Card for Vista solves the Problem but I dont want new Problems with two Soundcards (IRQ etc)
Thats all what I wanted to say before.
Now Iam Continueing with a Klingonian Meditation to Complete the Ceremony ´n Harmony

I would say that paying for 5.0 is a (very) good deal with the additional plugs alone. I'll be putting my money where my mouth is, once I'm back in the workforce.
The SC website is down ATM, but recently the upgrade price was 198EU including VAT. This was for 5.0, not for 4.5.
I wonder if the pricing for upgrading to 5.0 will remain there, or go up. Anyone in the know?

I think, maybe later you can Purchase 5.0 for a cheaper cost.So one or two Weeks before 5.5 is done. And if Scope 6 comes you wished to buy the 5.5 version.

I actually expected to pay for Scope 5 - I wouldn't have minded...but I think I'll skip the RC until the official V5 is out

Sounddesigner pointed out at the site is back up (thanks SD). Still 198EU including the VAT. Hella deal
The update on SFP v3.1 or SCOPE v4.0 to SCOPE v5.0 you can obtain for 198,- EUR (incl. 19 % UST).

Sooooo
I am wondering if it is worth upgrading to 5.0 if I only have a luna 2 powersampler.
I have concern whether its worth it because I only have 3 DSP's and on win XP.
Scope 4.0 is very lacking in tube emulations, keen try these and and the verbs.
Thanx

I started with a 3 dsp card back in 2002. well, after 3 days i decided to upgrade with an additional 6 dsp card. and after a year of working, i already had 2 15 dsp cards
