It's their good will (the developers) only to provide us the software. They work for free and we should expect they work in their spare time and for free. A bit of respect is necassary.

i am sorry this message isn't written against the developers.
but understand me, 3 years ago i have baugth a sfp card, a power sampler card, more and more plugins to creamware and recentely, a computer which turn under windows for my cards.
3 years ago they already anounce the osx version and today allways the same...
i just demand a little respect for her client

I understand your situation and your impatience. I'm in a similar position (3 cards and still OS9). But belive me, this particular topic and its starter are not responsible for the lack of OSX support. They took the glove to help us and others, that's all. If I were him I wouldn't know the release date for sure.

Additionaly, if you have a look at this forum deeply you'll know the CW situation and you'll understand the delay.

if i had the competence, i would have done something for cw, reading our posts, you can understand how deep is
our attachement to cw.
but, in lack of news, we can imagine what we want, even
the fact that osx don't interest cw...wright or wrong?

Damn you guys are pissed off!!!! And I guess for good reason, you know. I mean, if you invest good money into a product/s from a company and intend on continuing to invest more of your good money, you expect to hear a little about what's going on internally, or with developments and all. I check out all of the developments of all the other software firms, especially the ones that have hardware incorporated into the setup like CW and those guys seem all to be pretty damn big firms, with pretty big names behind them and all. Look at what we've got. We've got a few damn good (look @ what they've done so far) underdog programmers that have made some pretty awsome gear, that're used by some pretty big name producers both in Hollywood and in the music business. Point is is the stuff we're using is made by probably one of the smallest (if not the smallest) companies like this going on today, underdogs guys. So since they don't have money like Roland, or the others, shit's going to take time. I don't doubt that they are trying, but hell, the point is is that they are trying!!!... to stay in the game, with a product that is still fucking hot!

Yeah, I know it'll be alright for sure. Hey shit this is a really special firm, you guys know that. There were alot of other options other that CW, but none of them held what this package does. I'm addicted to CW and don't plan on upgrading my Mac OS until they come out with an OSX or OSXI driver. And if I get rich and famous before they come out with those drivers, I'm just going to have to fly my ass over to Germany and fund that bitch myself! Because this stuff is just that hot... yeah

Second that. For me it's just a few minor niggles to be fixed - STM midi multichannel (a finer resolution would be better yet) for full control surface automation, and STS phase prob, and I'd be happy as can be.

Yes I took off the two scope cards outside of my G4 dual 1.25 and bought a RME Fireface 800 and sound is completely different. I never could imagine how can be that much different.Fireface converters are the same spec like Apogee AD16 DA16. Now I am very happy..

G5 is coming but these cards are not compatible ???
What to do with those?
And no more problems pci or any other limits LogicPro7 and lot's of power.If you need more connect two G5 dual2.5 and Logic can use power from both G5. 10Ghz of power for plugins!!!! more than enough

Sorry, but I guess people just havent learned the lesson to NEVER buy anything on what a manufacturer *promises* to happen in the future. You ALWAYS buy something based on if it does what you need it to do *now*. Not to sound cold, just practical.

PS - If you buy my car now, I promise that in 2 years I will upgrade it to the new flying model

Just want to say big honnest thanks to all the people breaking their back on the OSX drivers code for us -for free. I'm sure you're doing a great job.

But can anyone clarify my main concern once for all:
Are the CW cards compatible with the PCI-X bus of the biggest G5s? These things operate with a funny voltage don't they?

imho it's more likely that if they ever come out with new hardware (which would be required to 'solve' the 3.3 V problem), it would be an external box with the faster version of firewire.
NOAH at least had OSX support, so there's at least some experience to start from - and it would be much easier to maintain over various platforms (and cheaper to develope anyway).

With enough onboard memory the PCI bandwidth problem would vanish, too.

Anyway, I think you need quite a few tracks and a serious number of plugs to put the 2x1.8Ghz G5 on its knees.
It will be enought for me, at least.

There was also rumors that PCI-X will disapear as fast as it came, and that the potential next generation of PowerMac will go PCI-express (I'm quite numb on these subject...I read PCI-god only knows.. express or or something else) Which would probably be another reason for CW not to develop PCI "variant" card, before having a clear picture of what will go on with.. G6?

Right now the most difficult part is to come: savings for investments.

It's been quiet for a while, anybody have any news on the progression of the 'SFP 4.0 for OSX' update? Have the coders and CWAudio come to an agreement jet? I heard that was still a big problem, till which level the coders would have access to the CWAudio basecode. Not an expert on which level or how to call it, but I understood that it was pretty important for the coders to make any progression on the project.
