by King of Snake
Intel Pentium III 1Ghz CPU
running Windows XP professional
ASUS CUSL2-C motherboard
256 MB Ram (no idea which brand)
2 x Maxtor 72000 rpm IDE harddisks
ATI Radeon 9000 Pro dualhead videocard
CW Pulsar I and Powersampler boards
Luna I/O box connected to Powersampler with Z-link
el cheapo Firewire board (for DV capturing)
Creative DVD rom drive
Philips CD-(Re)writer/CD rom-drive

all this in a too-small, too noisy generic grey box, tucked away behind a wooden panel inside my desk.

Nord Rack 2 connected to Luna I/O
Guitar connected to Powersampler jack input via Behringer DI box.

Cubase VST 5.1
and various other softwares and plugins.

Please note this system is very stable even though it is used for audio, video, graphic design, games, internet, office and watching adult movies

yeah, 65000 rpm would be more than enough but no, you had to go all the way up to 72000.

Having presented my studio some time ago, I would like to show here the studio of Hans Zimmer, who asked me to bring a countervisit to his one

I hate against light, even if it's coming from above, as you can see.
I don't wanne see my own nose and eyebrows all the time Image

You can see (well...), among other things:
Kurzweil k2500RS, Virus-A, Korg707, A.D.A.M nearfields, Peavy PC1600, SPL Vitalizer MK2, Lexicon MPX1 Fx and an old Roland Octapad II.
And of course my bit noisy but anyway beloved Mac G4/733

Thanks At0mic for the server picture link

Bump and call for updates!

This page serves to expose your system. It is helpfull during trouble shooting, or can be a major show-off -any way you want it

Please stick to the topic so it preserves its character of example and reference to fellow Pulsarians. I think it's important to keep your info up-to-date, to make sure it remains relevant!

Thank you very much for those pictures, Hubird!

I have just about the same room size for my studio and your setup will be a great help to fix mine.

What I work with at the moment

Soundcards
Pulsar1
Scope SRB
Powersampler1
I may take out the Powersampler, as I have resently had some annoying "No More STDM connections" messages.

Outboard gear
A16 Autobahn
cheap 48key MIDI-keyboard
NAD 3240pe (old integrated HiFi-amplifier)
Epos es11 (Nice small HiFi-speakers, but not realy studio monitors)
DBX mini-pre
AKG 535eb
Senheiser MD431 (I think - a glittery looking song michrophone)
Philips 600 DAT (very old with new mechanics - used for transfering my DAT-recordings thru SPDIF)
Sony 8 portable DAT with some shitty - but overpriced - Sony stereo mic

Instruments
whatever is at hand and can make a noise
K.Yairi Classic guitar
Washburn e36 - Electric guitar with 36 frets
Bond - Electric guitar with metal fretboard and plastic body - with a display for pick-up selection, volume, bas and treble (broken )
Musima - old East German classic guitar My first real guitar - the cheapest in the shop. It is also my first guitar: 20%broken, 77%modified, 82%tuneable = my favorite instrument.

Software
SFP 3.1c
Samplitude Classic 7.11

Computer
CPU -> Celeron Tualatin 1000@1333 boxed
RAM -> 512MB PC133
Mouse -> Logitech MX300
Display -> Eizo L365
Keyboard -> Logitech Desktop Pro
Hard drives -> Seagate Baracuda IV 40+80GB
Motherboard -> Asus TUSL2-c (latest BIOS I think)

System capacity
Recording 31-32 Stereotracks 32bit floating to Samplitude and monitoring them from Samplitude at the same time. ASIO 32float drivers 7ms latency.

Currently most used effects and synths
Adern KickME
Sonic Timeworks Mastering Compressor
Creamware DC-remover (very needed, when recording with my Sony DAT)

Room
My bedroom/kitchen/living room (one room many functions) with a noisy refrigirator and some realy bad echoey delays on specific frequensies.

What I use the equipment for
Not much, but it is a nice hoby to have. I record most of my lessons at the university on DAT and transfer them to my PC, where I remove DC-offset, cut some low frequensies and take away some noise with Samplitude before compressing them with FLAC (take care, it can in some settings destroy the audio). I tend to not create so much music when working with the PC - still so many presets to test and knobs to turn. One project for this summer is to create a couple of fully produced songs. So far I only have a bunch of rough sketches, and I want to break that - look out for beginners odd music comming soon in the music category (I've got to start somewhere).

My computer:

P4 2.5GHz
ASUS P4B533-E w/onboard LAN and FireWire
512MB PC2100 DDR
Windows XP
CW Pulsar 2
CW Pulsar
CW PowerSampler
SFP 3.1c
Sonar 2.2 with ASIO (!)
ATi Radeon 8500 128MB w/Dual Monitors
GigaStudio 2.54 (don't use much)
Goldwave and Sound Forge XP v4 (woefully outdated)
MidiMan USB Midisport 2x2
Pioneer 16x DVD-ROM

I used to have horrible problems with my computer -- WDM drivers, Sonar crashing, PCI overflows, everything else unstable, but within the last few months I've gotten everything under control. My computer works flawlessly now except for an occasional SFP crash when loading the ModIII.
