I am not trying to convince anyone neither...

I for sure prefer some Scope FX (and synths) but to say that they can not be replaced by Native is a bit exaggerated. After you try some serious sessions with plugs i mentioned (you can run demo) tell me your opinion then. I am sure you'll have something to say. Btw UAD is not the king in dynamic procession anymore. Several Native developers already offered amazing products. And there is SSL with no emulation but with direct port from their consoles. Native SSL plugs are going to be available within few weeks. I am not speaking about Duende btw.

According to the website the 5.1 should be able to download the 9:th of dec, but its still not there?

i just worder what will be the "correct" price for the upgrade for SFP 5.0 owners and if there will be download option to spare 10 € shipping.
i am not spending my money happily, but i will definitely buy the upgrade.

Not sure if this was aimed at me since it was right after my former post, but come on Gary... I don't see anything offending in my post, neither am i being negative towards SC. There are just some fixes that needs to be done. The first thing i did after the shop opened was to try to place an order for 5.1 (even at a higher price than formerly agreed upon on a private basis, but i don't care about that) and Modular IV. On an order of approx 200 euros, i am not paying 40-60 euros for p&p when i can get a 50 inch plasma tv airborne from Paris,France to Norway at the same price. I just need the serials.

I don't feel I am asking much. Sure SC have done a great job, but as i said, some things need to be ironed out. There's no reason to be calling people "spoiled brats" for asking what they get for upgrading their 32bit system from 5.0 to 5.1. I figure 5.1 is the OS that will be updated in the future, so that might be the answer. I'd take it the 5.1 32bit would be a free upgrade for 5.0 users but i am clealy wrong. On the other hand I am prepared to pay for 64bit support.

Again, Congratulations to SC on the progress, and i mean it.

Can't even remember when I last used basic SCOPE comp, eq or delay.
There is MUCH better stuff native.
And for the price of XITE-D one could get a fast PC and have some cash to spare.

Most producers are concerned with quality and then there is the majority of the listening public who aren't gonna hear the level of quality that the track was produced at. If you're happy with the quality of whatever system you have and nobody is complaining then that's good enough I say. Choice is good, and sometimes expensive

Yes, I want to expose and clarify:


- S|C prices related to the dealer pricing:
The price you find at our site always was higher than the
dealer prices. This is intended. This is what handles with the
"street price". A street price gives a dealer a better chance.


- XITE-1 price:
With the list price we fix the value of this product (also
depending on manufacturing and parts costs).
Street prices and special offers then should afford a price
where we are still around 3000 EUR.


- XITE-1 D is 1/3 of DSP power?
We have 10 DSP related to 14. It is not just 1/3:
At our website you can find this information:
Number of DSP Chips XITE-1 12xSharc (333 MHz), 6xSharc (60 MHz)
Number of DSP Chips XITE-1D 4xSharc (333 MHz), 6xSharc (60 MHz)

Total is 4356 MHz against 1692 MHz, it is nearly 40% (60% less).
The XITE-1 D price is about 40% less than the big XITE.

In addition the 6 Sharcs have some advantages against the faster
ones, in combination with them.


- Looking at the price difference related to DSP power:
DSP power is one feature of it. Adopting the price of a unit
with less DSP power in same relation, means your Xite wouldn't
have a case top, less back IOs, only half of all other boards
and electrical parts inside. Also the manufacturing services
could not have been done completely: Soldering, mounting, testing...
So, there are many things that make it difficult to lower the price
as much as the DSP power.


- Looking at the price related to DSP power (2)
If you look at the DSP power (and the IOs) related to other
manufacturer's products, XITE probably is too cheap.
But also here: DSP power is not the only parameter.


- 3DSP PCI Board
This is the Luna Card, yes. Then it was SCOPE /home. We call it
SCOPE 3DSP since 2 years. The new revision now has changed
ADAT connectors on the expansion plate. The 3DSP card we still
offer as a flexible IO card, with all Software options of SCOPE v5.1,
so most things can be used or tried out on the 3DSP board.


- Hardware product range
With XITE-1 D we intended to have an up-to-date external
SCOPE hardware for a lower price than the big XITE.
We discontinue SCOPE 14 DSP, since it would cost nearly the same
as the XITE-1 D. We discontinue also the 6DSP (Pulsar) board
in sales, but still have them for repair exchanges.


- Do you need the v5.1 if you have the v5.0?
Yes, if you want to use SCOPE XITE-1 or PCI on 64bit Windows,
since only v5.1 means 64bit driver and software.
(BTW: It's free for XITE users.)

No, if you intend to stay on 32bit Windows.
The v5.1 has no more features than the v5.0.
(But it has a 32bit setup in addition to the 64bit setup.)


- Payment for Software Updates?
I agree, it is an important and entitled question, if we
have to charge for a 64 bit Update or not. All of you and
also we as a company decided to meet this challenge
"Continue with SCOPE". That is only possible with continuing
developing on it. For us it means we have to charge money
for our work, time and expenses.


- v5.1 only on CD? 110 EUR shipping cost to Australia?
That is funny, really! I'm sorry ) Our shop system is mad obviously
and has to be modified. We are doing this just at the moment.
Please don't pay for any download shipping cost. We will refund
this, if you already bought the v5.1 at our web shop.


- new SDK
I agree, it is very important, yes!
And this is to be finished!


- OSX
It is not possible to finish this soon ("soon" - in its common meaning).
But we all agree, surely OSX is more important than ever before, yes!
Of course still a goal of our work.

A common interface to load VST in the editing of all in real time, with the host program opened, instead of having to prepare every time a XTC project offline.

I think a lot of us "oldies" still (since 2003) on PCI boards would really like some sort of trade-in, but then again, I'm not sure that it's possible for you guys.

I'm on a Luna II (3DSP) + Pulsar II (6DSP) + Pulsar XTC (6DSP) with a 2496 breakoutbox (which isn't compatible with the XITE-1's), and would gladly "upgrade" to a XITE-1 D.
But sadly 2000,- EUR is just too much!

Great new site though, and last but not least, finally something happened at last!

Truly I am stuck with the platform so there is nothing I can do but buy the upgrade. I am stuck because no dsp system whether native/uad/powercore has the punch and pure clarity of scope plugins. I still get emails from people asking how my mixes/masters are so "loud and clear and defined". Well its because of scope and its plugins. Even deadmau5 asked me how I "got that sound out of cubase". Anyway looks like ill dip into grocery money and eat ramen for two weeks but hey these guys gotta eat. I guess since its only a handful of people now and it still is my most treasured hardware and software. BAH

Seriously, soniccore feels like a marriage/love hate relatonship LOL

It will be worth my 8gb ram upgrade from 32bit windows I suppose..

Thanks for the update Holger your presence here is greatly appreciated -straight from the horse's mouth. When you guys catch up on the online shop, you've got 1 for the Mod IV. In the mean time i'm happy with 26dsps and 5.0 and still dropping my coins in the jar for xite-1.

So there arent any Bugfixes from 5.xxx to 5.1? I really want to upgrade but i already have all the devices and the scope pc will stay on xp.So what about Bugfixes-Releasenotes?

I still have some doubts, maybe someone can solve.
The 60mhz dsp are not the same performance as the old PCI cards? Or have 2x of power?
My number doesn´t match. If the 6 dsp 60mhz are just like the old ones then Xite-1 and Xite-D only are diferente on the 333mhz ones, what have 1/3 so (33%).

You consider the total 40% based on total Mhz, but if the new dsps have 10x of power then all ones, than there is no relation between Mhz. 60mhz x 10 should be 600mhz, so the performance is not proportional to mhz.
Unless that the 60mhz dsps are diferent from the old PCI ones, and so perform 2x even mainaiting compatibility?
If finally Xite-1 can be bought for 3000 on the retailer that should be fair. Let´s see how much will cost the Xite-D. But still extrange that street price now is 3800 and special Christmas at 3300, while before was 3300 street and 2800 special.
Many guys here have expressed there wishes to can get affor the Xite-1. That means guys who like Scope but couldn´t afford it yet. I think that the keeping the prices like before should help some of us to make the effort.
It may be true that Scope plugins sound better, but if you have to decided about your future and the security of your family (for example) only the Pro guys and studios will invest much more $$ for that diference.
I know that a good preamp, AD converter also is a very high price, but those days where the money appeared under the stones to buy a dream are gone.., and now, since you don´t know if will find something on the next stone start to think if better spend 3000 on a dsp box or save it for future food.
I don´t want to be catastrophic, but even I keep my work ok for now, I see around a lot of optimists 2 years ago that are biting the dust today.
