Question (although I think I already know the answer).

I have a backup file that I think might have been created with Win95. Using the old standard backup utility that used to come with the OS.

I tried to unarchive the file with the Win ME backup utility and it just hangs. I think the two versions may have been different (of course it couldn't be that easy).

Does anyone know of a way, without having to reload Win95, to unarchive this file. It has an extension *.QIC. I tried WinZip but no go.

If there is an easy answer I surely would be thankful.

Thanks for the responses guys. Problem solved.

For some strange reason, my Win ME backup utility kicked in mysteriously after trying it 3 or 4 times and worked. So I was able to unarchive the old file.

Strange, but I'm happy. Thanks again.

And yeah - that's why I love this forum. You guys all rock in my book. It's like one-stop shopping. Why go anywhere else
