I would like for some native English speakers, lets say three people, to check my way of speaking English.

I need to do a job as commentator in which I have to record some text in English. I know I can do it quite well, cos I’ve been told to have a clear accent, but nevertheless, I would like to improve it to the maximum getting to a professional level of diction.

Perhaps people with different kind of accents will be able to judge in different ways. Anything you may tell me would be great, for this I’m going to post you a little file into the Music Forum for a few days, then I’m going to replace it by a song of mine.

I’m going to call the MP3 English Diction in the Music Forum.

Please, tell me if you can and want to give me a little feedback about it.

Thanks very much in advance for you help!

well, although i'm not english mother tongue, i have to say that what you read is intellegible, and you have the right pronunciation. however, i found the reading a bit too slow... if you speak at this velocity you will probably make your audience sleep...
try speak just a little faster (but not too fast)!

hi Nestor,

imho your voice is good for that job. It's vivid and transmits sympathy
Definetely worth the effort to improve it !
There are special exercises for actors (you probably know) which could bring you within a couple of months to pro level.

It is noticable that you need quite an amount of concentration to pronounce clearly - that's what separartes us regular folks from pro news speakers  and you alternate between a lower and a higher expression.
I'd prefer the higher one in the middle of the track, but to be able to control both, depending on the situation to comment, would be the most pro approach.
See you on TV, but stay away from dangerous places...

cheers, Tom

Thanks for your encouragment Tom! I'm going to improve it, for sure... Perhaps not to such a high stardard as seen in the news... but enough for people to understand it clearly. Cheers...
