just got sonar3..it's still cakewalk, but it's cool..logic 5.51 FEELS so much more solid though and the logic plugs seem better(more of them and more different ones,a more complete set)..the lexicon reverb sounds good...it seems to recognize l,r perfectly as long as i open a project w/24 bit asio2 drivers first(otherwise i get screwy behavior, noticing left only as krizrox reported).also,i had to disable my cw cards in the xp device manager, open sonar and choose asio or mme drivers in the audio preferences, otherwise,no splash screen,no nothing......

Cool - welcome to the Sonar world. It'll be nice to have another source of expertise around here. The Cakewalk/Sonar forum is kind of a laugh sometimes. Clearly, Sonar is still being used by the Soundblaster crowd judging from the types of messages on that forum.

I agree with all your points so we are seeing the same things. The only difference is that you have other programs installed in which to base an opinion. I only had tripleDAT - which probably isn't a good basis of comparison but that's all I had.

So for me, Sonar was a major step upwards. It's too bad EMagic abandonded the Windows platform. I probably would have taken a harder look at it. The only thing I don't like about EMagic is their manuals seem to be written by space aliens
