My problem right now is that CPU load goes up about 50 percent as soon as I load a CW Plugin into Cubase SX. After starting play back glitches are being audible and shortly after that System starts to hang. Buffer preload of the XTC card is at standard. Increasing Buffer-settings of the card will decrease CPU load but a normal rate would be 3-5 percent.
I´ve optimized the system for audio, service pack and updates are installed and still no change.
I´m pretty close to stickin´ the piece of shit into the shredder.
any ideas anyone?
thanx in advance!

My SX Version is 1.06
Would an update to 2.0 fix my problem?
Or might be the VIA chipset of my ASUS A7V8X MB the cause of it?

Lower latency raises CPU.
What d'you say about shredding the piece of VIA to the dustbin?

i have the same problem with sx2! also, my pc "freezes" when i want to use my XTC-card!!! i think it´s the mobo, i have an epox 8kta3pro (with VIA-chip!)...so i´ll change the mobo, but don´t still know which one (for amd 2Ghz, cause i don´t wanna change or buy a new cpu) -> has anybody an idea?

Solution found!
As i am using a soundcard with multiple IO´s,
I checked my equipment configuration once again, and did I see in the "VST-Multitrack" menue? Cubase was still using
the ASIO-MultiMediaDriver. So I changed the driver and BINGO, everything works perfecto.
Buffer size is down to 64, XTC buffer preload at 512, no problem.
It was not the board not the chipset, just my own stupidity.
