Anyone heard the MOSS board (Z1)? How does it sound?
Can it satisfy any of synth needs?
Thinking of getting it before I have the money to buy NOAH....

I think the most polyphony you can get from a MOSS board is 6 voices. The analogue modeling is okay, I guess. But it's a real drag to edit. (the usual multi page editing screens) So, you can have for example
track 1: trumpet 3 voices
track 2: flute 1 voice
track 3: moog bass 1 voice
track 4: bowed strings 1 voice
total of 6 voices.
You can freely allocate how many voices you want for each track, but the total voices have to be less than 6.

Moss does VA, physmod plucked strings, physmod flutes, physmod brass, physmod reed, and physmod bowed strings.

Or equal
But I can combine those with Triton's internal sounds, right?

Any opinion on the quality? I'm not so interested about the physmod. How's the VA?

Ya, you can mix them in with triton's preset sounds. As for quality, I never use the MOSS VA. It's much easier to do on Pulsar. Sound quality is doable, but not extremely nice.

It has 2 OSC+1 sub OSC, 4 EG, 2 filters (serial or parallel). 2 OSC can be synced, FM, AM. Also does variable pulse modulation. The OSC are bandlimited I think, cuz you do't hear the nyquist reflection on the high notes. But believe me, you won't ever find yourself editing the presets cuz it's such a drag.

As for me, I like it cuz of the EP modeling. But at 6 voices, it's pretty much useless.
