Just in case you haven't been glued to the news this evening, The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King won almost every oscar category, making a total of 11 Academy Awards! What an amazing achievement!

Imdb.com had a constantly-updated list of what was winning what, and RotK kept coming up in nearly every category...whew! Too bad Johnny Depp didn't win Best Actor for Pirates of the Carribean, though.
I was pretty mad when the previous two LotR movies didn't win much, but I guess they were waiting for the last (and perhaps greatest) of the three.

Yeah, I'm also pleased about the sweep. I always thought LoTR was the book that could never be made into a movie, Peter Jackson did a magnificent job with it! I'm bummed that Sean Austin didn't get an Oscar though, I think he really deserved one.
Next up....The Hobbit! I hope.
