Hi!
I just tried that and wantend to share it with you...

Cubase SX2:
Duplicate one of your Creamware xxx.dll's in the Cubase-Vstplugins Folder and rename it to vocodizer.dll
Make sure that the vocodizer.dev is also present anywhere in the c:sfpdevicesxxxx - folder. (It depends where you installed sfp to).
Start Cubase.
Create a Group Track. Insert Vocodizer in the first insert-slot.

E. g. load an audio file into Cubase and pan it hard left. Route this signal to the group where the Vocodizer is inserted.

Load any VSTi and pan it hard right. Also route it to the Vocodizer-group.

Press Play and play the VSTi.
Voila!

It is also possible to load presets. You can also use the internal synth, but I didn't manage to change the number of voices so far

But finally it's working!!!!!!!!!

Yay!

Yes, I got the vocodizer to work too about a week ago, but without having to rename any dll:s.

But insert vocodizer on a group bus and panning signals into it? Does that enable you to route analysis AND synthesis signals into it properly?
I only inserted the vocodizer on an audio track and managed to use that signal as analysis, but was confined to using the internal sequencer as synthesis.

Yes: analysis AND synthesis!

Pan one channel (e.g. Audio Track: Vocals) to hard left and any VSTi hard right and route both of them to your Vocodizer Group!
You also have to select "External Input" at the Vocodizer.

And I also managd to alter the voices by renaming an exsting synthesizer dll to vocodizer.dll!!!!!
Then the voices-field appeared!

It works perfectly!!!!!

I´ve been looking for a way to use an external synthesis signal ever since I started with XTC mode. . . and you found it!

*dances a happy dance*

Yay! Yay! And thrice yay!

Nice I could help you with that.
For me it's great too. I love the Vocodizer!!

Hopefully Creamware could release all their Plugins (including Modular stuff) officially for XTC Mode.
It doesn't seem to be a complex issue to do that....
Probably SCOPE 4.1 will include it.

for those who are having problems, to get vocodizer working,
i had to make a .dll from a stereo fx .dll (i.e stereo delay)and erase my synth version, then put the .dll into my vst pluginsxtcothers folder.
Then I copied the vocodizer.dev into the devices xtceffectsstereoothers folder in my scope program folder.
i only chose the others folder to put it near vocoder III no other reason so pop it where you like, it should then be recognised as an effect rather than a synth in cubase, however you can still use the onboard synth as a vsti as usual, hope this helps.
Also you can do the same with minimax (i renamed the effect version minimax 2 both .dev and .dll) to get a phat monophonic filter.

Ah, thanks devastate!

Now I understand why some of my XTC effects like interpole appear as synths...

I manually went in and used a synth .dll to name all of my XTC devices, I'll try it with an effect .dll and make sure the dev files are in the right folder.

cool!
