Could have 8/16 audio inserts/channels and a single midi out.
For each channel you could select what note to output. Velocity value of note would depend on the incoming signal. Perhaps a "trim" or min/max controll would be needed.
This way you would use any (hardware usually) audio source (microphone or drum pad i.e.) and whatever software multi-sampled you wish.
What do you think?

No one finds this usefull? The general idea is to hook it up to STS or battery or something similar.

Voidar, if that would be easy, then it would be easy as well to generate any midi controller or event and modulate it arbitrarily.
None of that is available - you may have noticed that only transform operations of existing midi data are possible.
There's a big gap to be filled...

I see. Well, thank you for explaining. I guess it would require some new atoms, as devices like this exist in the VST and DX world.
