To be honest I think it's just a ploy by the FA to be able to sack him - they gave him a huge contract and if they were to terminate it without a good reason (I guess having an affair with someone in the organization might count as this) then they would need to pay out huge compensation.

Re: his abilities as a coach - most people believe he plays too defensive and chooses useless players like Heskey and Hargreaves while leaving out a lot of much more promising young players (Rooney being the exception).

Yup - I'd get rid of him because he's too darned cautious/conservative and the way the team often plays reflects that. Fair play to the man for getting his rocks off, though! Go Sven!!

Now, if I had my way...well, I'd start by completely changing the scoring rules of football.

Currently, if you have the most booooooooooring match in the world which ends up as 0:0, each team scores a point.

If you have an absolutely thrill-dinger of a game, ending up at 5:4, then one team scores 3 points, the other 0.

Dunno about you, but I think that's a load of old rubbish.

My rules:

1 goal = 1 point
0 goals = 0 points
A win = +1 or +2 points

I think that'd help the game a lot.

Damn right about the diving/play-acting thing.. I think that stuff like that should be more routinely punished.. the problem is what punishment to give - if you banned them for a few matches, for example, modern teams with huge squads would be able to cope with it anyway. And fining players would do nothing as they earn astronomical amounts. I think the only thing that would work would be docking points from teams.

Personally I think the game could also be helped by having 2 referees, if they don't want to introduce video replays.

maybe that girl the guy slept with could learn him to use his agressive impulses in a propriate way, in bed I mean.
If he got to get a better football trainer this way, everyone could feel satisfied with the result, and he could keep his job.
They could promise then all the football players of the team a free go with that woman, only if they win of course:-)
Is this an acceptable compromise for everyone?:-)

Well, I guess so.. can't help feeling sorry for that woman if she has to go with Rooney though
