I've been watching the convention and one thing I can tell you for sure is that the democrats like music which is over 20 years old. Is it any wonder that young people don't vote? Note: as far as I can tell the convention is 100% synthesizer free.

Here in the UK the Labour party used a cheesy synth pop song called "Things can only get better" when they came into power. Which had plenty of synthesizer action. Unfortunately using synth music does not change lies.

I still remember Thatcher's "inaugural speech" outside 'Number 10' when she came into powah (I think it's a bastardisation of St Francis of Assisi's Prayer):

"Where there is discord, may we bring harmony. Where there is error, may we bring truth. Where there is doubt, may we bring faith. And where there is despair, may we bring hope"

Talk about failure to deliver!

I heard that Thatcher enjoys using Flexor when she creates Mod patches. She has been relentlessly pestering Adern for Flexor 2!

In the runup to the recent Canadian election there was an article that mentioned each candidate's favourite comedian.

The guy who won the election chose Bob Newhart.

As Braincell says: is it any wonder that young people don't vote?

It still drives me nuts when friends don't vote, though.

I wonder what kind of music Nader likes...

Isn't it a Howard Jones (mid '80s) tune?

All 7 or 8 democratic parties here, except the green who greatfully thanked for it, are in the coalition in the Flemmish goverment. If not, one had to go with the fascist party for a majority. What a joke. Next time I hope they let them show their real faces instead of having them shouting from the opposition. Jorg Haider had his chance in Austria, anyone heared of him after that? :>

Oh, we don't have tunes for elections here... I just follow what they done previous legislature and vote for the harmless :o

Here in the US i'd have to say the vast majority of people who are politically active (and especially those with enough time to bother watching the convention) are probably over the age of 50 at least. Which means that they were probably still griping about the annoying 'youth' music played during the democratic convention.

Make no mistake the Republicans won't miss that opportunity (their music will be 30-40 years old or perhaps even classical  ).
