I just got my new setup up and running and everything seemed swell until I started Cubase SX 1.06 and tried loading some XTC plugins. The plugins distort sound. It isn't the 'too much gain' type of digital distortion but the 'out of sync' type.
When I run the basic SFP and put some Lama Whipping in with Winamp I get good signal with three MasterVerb Classics running (signal through one and the other two just hanging around). Fourth one adds a little cracle but only to the left channel (!?!). The cracle increases with additional MasterVerbs and at 11 MasterVerbs I get the 'PCI capacity limit reached' notification.
Any suggestions? I would really appreciate a couple of your busy minutes.
My setup is:
Win XP SP1 Home
P4 2.8 GHz
Intel D875PBZ with HT on
1 gig of Dual Channel DDR400
Matrox G550 AGP Dual Head
Pulsar2 in slot 4
Pulsar1 in slot 2
IDE drives
Many people seem to have Hyper Threading on without problems. Is the Pulsar1 compatible with HT? Will disabling HT in bios actually disable the thing or do I have to do something in Windows?
