Hi,
I know that ASIO latency with Pulsar I is minimum 13ms for 44.1 kHz. Am I right ? Doesn´t exist any tweak or trick (mainly in XTC mode) ?
What is necessary to do in Cubase or any Pulsar INI´s or whatever....to have setup with minimum latency ?
Because sometimes it seems to me that when I play some VST nstruments or my keyboard through Analog IN and monitoring via Cubase, latency is sometimes lower sometime higher ...it seems to me ......
Thanx a lot for any ideas
Peter

To have minimum latency, you need a 2nd generation CW card, and a computer that can handle the extra strain that low latency brings with it. No tweaks can get you below 13ms now...

) Yes of course I know that better is CW Pulsar II....

))
But I have CW Pulsar I runnig in XTC mode....somewhere I heard that is necessary to update plugin delay compensation and also I had to rewrite buffer size, because SX showed 25ms latency...
What else is needed or good for minimum latency in XTC mode ???

13ms each way =25ms latency.
p1 won't go any faster.

TO GARYB: I don´t think you are fully right, because after rewriting buffer size in .INI file, Cubase SX showed latency 13ms
But as I said, sometimes it seems to me, that latency differ ....

glad you got results...

I believe this should'nt be an issue in SX 2, as it has full plug in delay compensation. However, with live audio their will still be delay.

whats really the lowest latency for a Pulsar II card in XTC mode, and cubase sx then??
i run a Pulsar I and a Pulsar II card together, and cant get below 13ms. "pulsar can not use accelerate mode" it says..whatever that means..?

by fiddling with cet.ini cubase says that i am down to 7ms latency now.. i think it really is also. it feels that way..
but when i use realtime rendering, i still get some crackles in the tune here and there..hrrm.. anyway to fix this?

uhh, it shouldn't be that tricky.
xtc latency is controlled buy the ulli setting not cubase. it is twice the latency of sfp mode(because of the signal to and from scope, relative to the sequencer. 2nd gen cards go down to 3ms, so the total latency = 6ms. the p1 card's minimum latency is 13ms so the total latency = 26ms. of course, scope must have xtc mode enabled with a proper xtcproject.pro present and the program must be closed.
the "can't work in accelerator mode" message indicates that you have another i/o asio host connected to your sequencer or that the asio i/o is not available in your xtc project. only an xtc card (a p2 card with the i/o removed and the i/o plug installed) will work like this(like a uad card).

well, as far as i know i have done a proper setup of my xtc project. and after following GoneZoft's advices regarding this.. i have gotte everything to work. i think the crackles when rendering with realtime in cubase, have something to do with that my pulsar 1 card is sharing the same IRQ as my graphic card. i will look into it soon..

If you can get a 2nd-hand Luna II, I see them sometimes for less than € 200,-
If you highlight that one in the SFP setup it becomes master for the PCI communication and you can expect a crackle free latency of 7ms @44100.
