Hi!
A kind pulZarian told me he's been receiving emails (with strange attachments) from my adress but I didn't send him anything.
I feel sorry but I hope people believe that, honestly: - I'm not sending those emails!
I don't know how or why this can happen,
anyway, keep me informed if it lasts, please.

I got three contaminated mails with zezappas adress as sender.
They include always an attachment, like a .com file or something.
Be careful!
At least I knew that zep wouldn´t send me an e-mail without writing some sentences.
What the hell are those mad people have in mind? Spending their time with such crap.

I occasionally receive 'mail delivery errors' from somewhere with my adress as sender (which I ignore due to low count).
But if the problem becomes more relevant it would help to include a certain 'mark' in the message subject to verify that a real planetZ member wants to reach someone.
Most of this crap is generated by programs which aren't smart enough to recognize such a common agreement.
Any ideas ?
cheers, Tom

On my homepage I use mailto:[email adres]?subject=homepage - other emails to that adress are deleted permanently if I close the email client before checking deleted items...
That adress I only use for my homepage... The filter works fine. Don't display my other email adress here anymore, people can use private message for initial contact here, and planetz will send me a notification if that happens.
Open for better solutions,
at0m.

I probably get a half dozen or so messages like that a day. Someone (or something) manages to get our email addresses and disguise them to appear like they were sent from us (which they weren't) along with an infected attachment.
I don't claim to understand how that is even possible but it's rather frightening to think that someone can so easily disguise themselves as someone else here in cyberspace. The option is to change your email addresses every so often. Don't fall in love with an email address. I usually change my personal addresses once a year. That seems to do the trick. I only have a sort list of people that need to know it so I send out a cc to everyone on my short list informing them of the change. It can be that simple if you want it to be.
Unfortunately, I also have my business email which is a bit harder to change (in fact, I've never changed it). I get the most spam and junk on that account as a result but Yahoo mail allows me to filter out better than 95% of it.

as i said, the planetz email list HAS been hijacked. there are viruses spoofing some or all of our addresses that are visible all over the net. i receive notices from places i never emailed(often music related like emagic or m-audio) telling me i may have sent a virus. welcome to the information age. it will only get worse.
