Well, for me anyways!

One of the main problems I've been having getting a new track off the ground (other than me being lazy) is that I don't want to have to 'design' every sound in one of the 20,000 VA synths I seem to have accrued (or in modular) and to be honest I can't afford expensive sample libraries.

OK, there are presets, but I rarely find the sound I'm looking for there.

Hell, I miss my JV1080! Until now...

(Ravity(s))

These chaps seem like a really nice bunch, the demos are fully operational, they're constantly developing their software, it's very resonably priced and there's finally a really good sounding ROMpler out there!

For £80, it's a real bargain (although I think that it's Windows-only...) The presets really do sound good and being able to apply an independant arpegiator to each of the layers gives some fantastic effects.

Admittedly, its 30MB of sample ROM will not sound as good as today's gigabyte-sized sample libraries, but the sounds are very useable indeed and you can also import your own .wav files into Ravity which is a nice feature.
