Hi,

Excuse me asking a banal question . But I am reinstalling everything from scratch after a format of my hard drive and reinstall of Windows XP. My question is, can I just install SX 3.0 without installing the Syncrosoft software seeing that I have already authorised my dongle. I don't see why I would need the Syncrosoft software. Plus seeing I am making a clean install, I don't want to install stuff that isn't necessary to install. Or do I need the Syncrosoft software?

Thanks

It'll probably just install the driver as necessary - just remember NOT to have the dongle in when installing Cubase!

remove dongle
install cubase
insert dongle
play!

Hi Counterparts,

Thanks for your response. However, i am still not clear if I need to install the Syncroft software. Do I or don't I? Remember that I have already authorised my dongle.

Thanks

no you don't. it doesn't matter anyway, 'cause if you need it for ANYTHING, you can always install it later.

As far as I'm aware, the Synchrosoft software is installed as a metter of course as part of Cubase's installation. If the dongle's already authorised for your SX3, then Cubase should run if the dongle is present. Part of the Syn.. software is the driver for the dongle.
