This is my first attempt at creating a modular patch. I wanted a 16pce drum sequencer that I could use to play a kit in the STS. Probably there is an easier way to do what I have created. Perhaps some of you wise pulsarians can fill me in. I was thinking there may be a way to do something similar with flexor modules?
Choose your 16 drums in STS and then assign them to the midi keynote that matches the sequencer output. The sequencer is started by midi on>gate command. I have this midi coming from logic so that it syncs with my audio tracks. However I'm sure it can be changed around to suit. An annoying thing is that because I modified a patch to make this one it keeps searching for a deleted preset file when loading. Does anyone know how to get rid of that?

Happy sequencing

[edit] I noticed from my jpeg that i didn't finish the wiring so I have now uploaded the finished dev.

That's a lot of egg noodles for a first patch

i'm assuming you have tried saving your new presets as something else, then saving all as a new patch? A rebuild would be tedious.

I didn't actually make any presets. It's just blank for making entirely new sequences. I realised aswell that another way to use this patch would be to load the STS program and then asign the keynotes by adjusting the transpose value on the Keyzones. So what do yaz think of the patch?

hmm, it seems to be tedious setting up a kit.

ok once a kit is set up it seems rewarding. I have reposted the device with key zones set for Stige's normal kit. I guess it would work for the ambient kit also. Thanks Stige, they are choice drum samples!

So, even if you have no presets, save them as something in SFP/Presets, then save the device as a new one. That'll stop the preset prob.

trying the device....

nice to know someone else in Perth is onto the modular

Seems to work fine. I find the mds 8 modules a bit fiddly as an interface, though.

Whaddaya reckon?

hey man. Yeah it's hell fiddly but I guess it's just like anything else it takes getting used to. Can you suggest a better way to do this type of sequencing in the scope environment? By the way you may want to download the device again because I only just replaced it with the one programed for stige's kit. I had probs uploading. It'll save you time.

I think this patch shits on the 909 & 808 Groover patches.

But alas I'm still not happy with this method of drum sequencing. I think i'll go back to sampled loops.

There is a cool module made by j9k that I've used to gain a lot of space! I had a similar idea, but used 6 MDS's for 48 pieces, mapped to general MIDI. And it took less space.

The patch is here:

and in the replies to the topic you find Ben Walker's site link to get the module
