Hey there.

I am a new user and as you can imagine i have all the "classic" problems with cubase SX and XTC mode. I have a Scope Home and Scope 4.0 software.

My problem is that modular 2 (the only synth i have the key) doesn't appear in VST instruments in cubase SX 1.0. The same goes for the 3 samplers i have in the sampler package. I 've tried to refresh the VST plug ins in cubase but nothing happend.

Any ideas?

Another thing i would like to ask is that if it is possible to use the mixers included in scope 4.0 as VST instruments or something. Can i control the automation of a scope mixer using Cubase SX while in xtc mode?

Thanks

i'm afraid Modular2 and III are not designed to work in XTC mode most other things do but not the modulars. However someone did figure out a way to do it but i can't find the link, it's on planet z somewhere.

You may also ilke to check this thread for further XTC tips.

All the best.
Mr A

Well thanks Mr A I have already read the XTC bible by GonZoft! But do you have any idea about the samplers? Why they are not in VST instruments? The wierd thing is that i cannot find any .dlls of the samplers in order to copy them to vstplugins/synths folder.

Heehee, you're asking the wrong man here, i'm a Mac user and know nothing of this mysterious XTC (i prefer SCOPE mode anyway with lots of virtual cables). However, there should be a sampler called Volkzampler which was a VSTi sampler i believe.

i did a search for the Modular in XTC mode but could only find an out-of-date reference to an Adern forum thread. Anyone?

Sometimes i wish i was a mac user as well! Anyways thanks for your replays. I will investigate further this Volkzampler which by the way i dont think i saw it installed somewhere in my hard drive. All i want to do is use cubase sx as the main sequencer obviously, and then use (and control their automation from SX) all Scope plugins, synths, samplers, mixers etc from cubase. Is there a way to do this without using the XTC mode?

(So far i managed to make the plugins to work in XTC mode using the copy-paste trick some people mentioned)

To work non-XTC you have to go to livebar/set/settings/global and uncheck the "enable xtc mode" box.

Then you will need asio2 source & dest, midi i/o, hardware i/o and whatever else you want loaded in the routing window.

Most things are automatable from there. You just need the correct routing for each project.

There's a bit of info in the scope manual - "Integrating Recording software" - (recording.pdf)

Hope this helps

p.s. - a lot of sfp users leave xtc off, it is a popular way to work.
