Has anyone experimented sending a Rhodes signal through the Interpole lowpass filter?

I will be doing a gig with a experimental jazzband soon, and I am trying to make a setup on Noah to make "timbre changes" during solos. Thought the Interpole might ne the right device.

Any tips og ideas?

So, I am continuing my own thread ...

Yesterday I borrowed a laptop, Siemens Amilo, to remote control the Noah at a rehearsal. I hooked my Fender Rhodes to the analog input of Noah, via Interpole, and let the analog out go into my huge Peavy KB300 keyboard amp.

The Interpole preset "Saturation" produced a nice, playable, unmistakeable Rhodes sound. (But my impression is that the "dry" unaffected sound dominated the sound image)

However, the USB cable from the laptop to Noah, produced an awful noice. Moving the mouse produced even more noise, like amplifying the internal processes of the computer. The noise seemd to go in rapid cycles, like "ticking". I disconnected the USB cable and the noise disappeared.

There is no way I can use this setup live.

Has anyone experienced the same? Any solutions?

Sounds definetly as a ground loop problem...expecially in a rehearsal setup with amps, setup should be studied carefully (star grounding etc...), but I can't be of too much help, I solved similar issues in my homestudio with a rational electrical connection of all the inter-connected stuff to a single mains source with a single ground point. On the other side my Noah has usb connection with my desktop, but is audio connected to the Scope card via ADAT port...

Maybe others could be of some help.

Thanks for your repiles.

What worries me is the sound that is produced when moving the mouse cursor and clicking the mouse. Don't think that also can be ascribed to the grounding.

For mouse, a rule of thumb: wireless makes more noise than wired, and the touchpad is silent.

Does NOAH accept balanced connections? These should be insensitive to the pulse signals of the mouse.

Just so you know, this noise issue is commonly known among Dj's who use Final Scratch or people who make heavy use of Ableton live with a laptop for live performance. Unplugging the power and relying on internal batteries is the solution everyone uses (unfortunately).
