Couple of new gadgets I was looking at. Somehow I got into this mindset that I really needed some sort of analysis/resynthesis combo package.
As for the Virsyn Cube.. I was never a pad kinda guy, in that I'd use prefab ones, but never really wanted to sit down and make these evolving patches. (cuz good ones take time to make) So, I guessed resynthesis was the way to go in terms of quick results. I kind of like the additive synth style high end glitter that almost sounds like metal. I thought I could get away with using STS5000 or kontakt's fft/resynthesis capabilities, but Virsyn Cube appears to give you more control, like being able to control envelopes during resynthesis. (so you can smear the contour of the partials and stuff)
Not too sure about Neuron VS.. it's still way too expensive, but they do have the sample converter thing that lets you use prepare your own samples now. (it wasn't available when VS was released I don't think) The usb joystick think looks cool. The price is just too high.
But anyway, I just wanted to get some thoughts on this field of synths. Does anyone have any experience with either of these? Or have other suggestions?

virsyn cube and neuron VS -anyone have them?
I've tried a Neuron (hardware) and I must say its a bit of a scam. Grainy sound, crappy analysis software, low poly (4 or 8 voices). I've come to the conclusion that Kyma is the only thing in this field which is actually any good (check out White Noise Additve Synth and Doppelmangler though.. pretty nice for native plugins).
