All,

I'm struggling a bit with acquiring some basic mastering skills. If anyone has some good links they would be willing to share on the subject it would be much appreciated!

I find that after I've spent several hours with a song, it's hard to remove myself from the sound I've become accustomed to hearing, and I feel as though I'm messing up the sound when I try to change it.

One thing I think I'm learning is that the lower frequencies tend to eat up the headroom, making it difficult to get the volume you want out of your vocals. But then you don't want to lose your bass frequencies. Tradeoffs, eh?
