I was searching for a term (maybe someone here knows it) that builders in Hong Kong use to describe their philosphy of architecture (something about buildings facing East or something like that) and I found this instead , Michael Wolf's photography of Hong Kong:

Again, on a side note, brothers Wachowsky the directors of the Matrix, are from Chicago, I believe they got the inspiration for the crop towers from the Marina City buildings (see below) in Chicago.

I'd like to see another whole continent empty of people - just a few research stations like the Antarctice, and let nature go where it will.

I think a good population of people would be maybe 1 billion.

everybody wants someone else to, and so they're allowing corporate entities to do it.

a less painful way would be to just take care of each other and there'd be plenty. there's a LOT more here than is admitted to, even if it IS finite. shortages of anything are like shortages of oil. when an army is to be mobilized, do you see a portion of what is possible? what if that entire energy was put toward making everyone's life decent and worthwhile, no matter what else happened? what world would that be and what would it be like? might there be bad people occasionaly? maybe. would they be that hard to deal with? any family knows what to do with it's bad apples if they are in a "traditional" culture. crime is unheard of there. everyone sees each other as family and it's clear that everyone is important. even the stupid ones(although stupid often does itself in).

it's bs to say that it must be like this. that's simply brainwashing, the empty repetition of familiar sounds. sheep get sheared, cattle get slaughtered. people help each other in the same way that you do what you can for your retarded aunt or troubled son.

i have no problem with some having more. there's plenty. some are overly greedy.

those people are living like that because they have flooded to the city from the country with dreams of making it big. they're there to work and they live like workers. the matrix is not so far off a comparison. they're not there like that because there's no other room for them, actually the opposite. many farming regions find dwindling populations and labor shortages. in fact, there are incentives now for college students to go to work in the country for a few years. hong kong is a special situation because of greedy landlords and the fact that one could leave china and defect to the west while staying in china. what a joke, work in factory for nothing, live in a deathtrap and you can't go home.
