Hey there Scope Developers! I need a very simple, but extremely important device. I am a DJ. I have an A16 Ultra. I want to use Scope as a DJ mixer, as well as my studio rig. DJ mixers are notorious for being cheap, noisy, and full of crosstalk. The sound quality of the A16 is amazing. What I really need to make this happen is a Cue Box for my STM 2448. What separates a DJ mixer from a standard mixer, is the ability to hear the program material before the fader brings the volume up. That allows the DJ to mix, by bringing the music in at the right moment.
What I would like is a free floating module (minimal design to maximize monitor real estate) with simple numbered buttons that represent the faders that I would like to preview. I would like to be able to control how many buttons are up at a time (from just 1 to all 24 channels). Most of the time I would need 6 channels, so that would be a good default (two turntables, two CD players, two ASIO for virtual mixing with Traktor). In case you are wondering, my particular turntables have line level outputs, and they don't need to be grounded, so I don't need to be concerned with that. The buttons should turn the music on when pressed (the opposite of the mute button on a regular mixer) and the buttons should be MIDI assignable for use with my MIDI controller.
The way I would imagine it working on the routing window is, as a through device. For example, as the default being 6, there would be 6 ins and 6 outs. I would route all the inputs from the A16 into the Cue Box inputs, and then out the Cue Box outputs, into the appropriate channels of the STM 2448. On the Cue Box there would also be the typical routings for MIDI in and Audio Out. The Audio out can then be assigned to my A16, which then goes to my headphone amp.
This is very cool. If it works in my home studio, then I want to use it live. Imagine all the cool Scope plugins to try out! Anyone interested?
