Okay, I decided to give XTC mode another try this weekend. I'm using it with Ableton Live 5. All the synths load fine and sound beautiful. Besides having to rescan the MIDI devices to find the Scope MIDI everytime I launch Live, the main problem is the extremely sluggish performance. Even without any plug-ins loaded, Live is taking a 11-13% hit. The mouse movements are jerky and sluggish and it doesn't recognize my other MIDI devices (i.e. UC-33e) I guess I'll be sticking to non-XTC mode with Live until these problems get ironed out (if ever).

P.S. I've read through the FAQ here and added the intBlkSize paramter to the ini file (which is why the synths sound perfectly clean).

XTC mode is mostly unsupported. You can try tweaking that intBlkSize value, like raising it to raise the ASIO block size (which will lower CPU usage.)

After a reboot and some synching between h/w ULLI and XTC ULLI, I managed to get great sound and great performance with both intBlkSize set to 128. I'm gonna try out XTC for a little while and see how I like it compared to SFP mode. Thanks for your help.
Now I just have to figure out why I need to re-scan the MIDI each time I launch Live.

Now I'm hooked
After loading Minimax and selecting the pull-down menu of parameters to automate -- without having to map any controls or remember CC numbers -- I don't think I wanna go back to SFP mode.

That's the spirit.!
XTC is so underated! And with some improvements/additions it could be an incredible tool.
