I didn't realize Harmony Central still had all those old press releases in their database! I looked at several of the old things from 1998 onward...Scope definitely had a lot of promise in those old days, but it suffered from the fact that computer audio just wasn't up to snuff yet. I first bought Pulsar back in the 1.2 days, and it and the rest of computer-based "pro" audio (except maybe for Pro Tools) were pretty funky back then. I don't think it finally came into maturity until 3.1c -- 2002 was when things started getting really professional in both the DSP- and native-based worlds. I know Scope would have kept going on into new heights if Noah hadn't almost killed the company. Noah was doomed from the start -- none of these "software plugins in a box" products have done very well IMO, because they don't have the hands-on feel of hardware or the convenience of real software plugins. I know the ASB boxes will be much more popular, because they're like real hardware.

It's really good they're using the new 200MHz chips, too, and I hope that before long they can revive Scope and update it for today's demands (with good WDM drivers!!).

in those years they also wanted to make ProTools obsolete, had some pretty nasty ads bashing the complete PC audio industry and there was a 'Scope in a keyboard with large touchpanel control' as a virtual reality image published.

you just start those ideas and act according to feedback
