Seriously now, I don't know about you guys(and the few girlies too) but I usualy try to think about ways to create new sound with my surroundings than the other way around.

I'd be much more impressed to see this guy turn out a really cool new album with this expensive gear than showing off his über geekness by booting a linux distro on it.

I wonder if anyone has done this and trashed the OEM system on the hard drive. Now, that would beat all!

The Oasys is kinda like the (now failed) Hartmann Neuron (basically a Linux PC with a Terratec soundcard and an unique, if odd, hardware user interface and chassis). I wouldn't doubt if we continue to see more "native" synth designs like this in the coming years. Surely code development is less expensive than ground up DSP hardware development, if also riskier...
