while I'd second the idea in general I have some serious concerns
1.) the announcement is considered spam in the sense of this board
2.) there is absolutely no information about the people in charge and the facility in general
anyone could setup such a set of pages, cash in world wide and silently vanish at any given time
in the way the site is presented (and with the afforementioned lack of details) is has to be considered fraud.

cheers, tom

good idea.. hehe, I might as well set up one for myself. Again, there is the problem of credibility. And in this world, it's all about crediblity. Who said music was about sound?

A few things I noticed from their web site:

- No specified place of business
- No gear list, which is commonly required in that market
- A team of highly qualified but nameless specialists
- Payment by Paypal or western union only

And a small quote from their site:
Sometimes recording studios lack proper equipment or proper premises to mix the song in accordance with the client's request. To avoid this, once recorded, the tracks are passed for mixing to single-functioned specialists – mix engineers.
I my opinion, if a studio doesn't have the proper equipment or premises to mix a song, they certainly don't have the proper equipment and premises to do tracking either and it's simply not a recording studio. They certainly haven't convinced my of their superior equipment. I also think that they've seen too many movies where their "single-functionned specialist" can save the day by "fixing it in the mix".

They also have "satisfied clients" who are also nameless and too shy to give any quote or credits worth mentionning.

Sadly, I don't think I'm big enough to be one of their customers. You see, they seem to cater to the Hummer driving, spinner and gold chain wearing, with loads of hard cash only customers.

They do seem to have a good web designer though. I'm sure they could also manage to sell some polished turd if they put their mind to it.

About Us does not tell you anything about the company.

No names of ownership or otherwise.
Which Country are they based?

No details of equipment or the supposed specialists.

Could be a con which is worse than SPAM?.

Well, you can try to listen the demos and to order at least... maybe you'll be satisfied?
And then you'll have no care about where they are located?

Yoch:-
do you know where they are located and the other details the people of PlanetZ have asked about?.
Or are you remote from the operation?.

thinking about it a 2nd time this is completely wiered - and even more the sentence above about 'no need to care'.
It is placed as a business offer, yet there's no 'incarnation' of whatever facility or staff.
The case is not only about money but also about trust that the tracks are used as intended.
There is noone to trust in, noone to sign a contract - forget about it

please delete the crap, Tom

are you really THAT stupid ?

on your 'order page' there is not even a terms and conditions paragraph, a thing usually considered BEFORE an enterprise starts, so the recent launch of the site is no excuse at all.

quote from the 'about us' page
Everyone in GlobalMixing is a member of the team. Our common goal is quality mixes and satisfied clients. Our employees are proactive and creative persons who strive to make every mix special and second to none.
truely revealing

either you publish name and location of the company and/or person in charge, tax number (or a similiar legal proof), staff count, gearlist, copyright and confidentiality terms
or you better p*ss off

it was already a mistake to post here, as these pages have a high Google rating and everyone will at least be warned...

cheers, Tom

Tom, If you can't pay I'm sure GM will mix for you for free, if you ask for a demo mix.

I'm sure best intentions are there it's just that no solid contact details, no real testimonials, no proof of gear list, pay-pal. It just comes across as a bedroom operation with lots of vst plugins and a fancy webpage to me!

You'd probably have gotten the same basic information with a completely different tone if you'd simply posted in the OT area with a topic like "Hey guys what do you think of this?".

Don't mess with our announcements =]

well, now there's a gearlist, terms and conditions, indicating the person in charge is Konstantin Kulesh located in Misk, Belarus.
Payment is 50% in advance, the rest after finishing the job.

Admittedly it's almost impossible to setup a 'solid' business relation in this context - anywhere in the world.
There are legal boundaries between countries and the 'product' itself isn't even measurable in any objective way by it's nature.
There's still a chance it's fraud, but I REVOKE my original estimation that it definetely IS

I just can't make up my mind between dissing this 24 year old talent (which he hopefully is) or admiring his courage to charge almost 3 average monthly wages ($139 in Belarus) for mixing a single track
I kind of like this attitude, honestly

cheers, Tom

I think it's *probably* a genuine 'business startup', but he chose the wrong place to advertise (his mistake)

I mean come on, to advertise such an enterprise amongst the Z community is asking for trouble. Z is home to engineers, musicians, & plenty studio owners who can mix & even master quite happily on their own. Maybe quite a few people on Z would consider going (cash permitting) for a 'session' in a HIGH END studio, for the experience of having their tracks professionally mastered.

IMO you need a high end studio, with *very* experienced engineers as well as the pleasure of walking in their front door & being able to watch them work for you for these sorts of prices to be realistic.

I'm with Astro in the sense that i'm sort of liking the attitude (you gotta give bonus points for actually trying, for actually getting up off your backside & doing something)

Unfortunately Very few people on Z will be interested in these studio services, so my suggestion would be to go away & play on mp3.com as there's plenty wannaB popstars on their who might just be interested

& Good luck
