well, partly because monsanto is making all those "terminator gene" plants that are patented and don't reproduce and there's no way to stop pollen from those feilds infecting the others....

Only glitch in your theory is the fact that the seed bank will be in a very remote location, in a high tech construction in a cave lined with enough concrete to survive a holocaust or worldwide natural desaster. The heavily sealed entrance is also blast proof, but I suppose that would be normal for such a seed bank... or would it??

It's a fact that issues with Iran are getting worse every day. Tv/radio networks are already trying to find the right formulation of a reason that supports doing something about Iran.
I think Norway gov. draws the same conclusion. War and Nature knocks on the door. Let's take precaution just in case.

that's the point. the bank is immune to pollen from terminator plant's pollen AND radiation from the next planned disaster....

It's certainly been predicted that we'll be seeing increasing levels of warfare globaly over the next few years. All the evidence points to chaos.
