Hello Everyone : )

Just received my Scope Project 4.5 about a week ago. I am more lost than I ever thought I could be and you are all light years ahead of me. What a great forum though. Have read the PLZ forums for a few days. Can't seem to find what I'm looking for though. Can anyone send a basic project configuration for routing FL Studio to Creamware and back to FL Studio. Does this make sense? I can't seem to get any sound out of this Hot Rod of a Creamware card.
I've read that it can be done in some way, but of the few posts I've found, I just can't seem to understand it. A JPEG would be great. I understand there is a certain limitation that FLS has regarding inputs. I think. Anyway, if I need to purchase Cubase, Then so B it. Thanks again!

Looking on the Web site, it seems that some versions of FL Studio don't support ASIO recording. Are you using ASIO or WDM, and what version of FL Studio are you using?

With Sonar, I route audio tracks through the ASIO source into Scope, do my processing, and then record it back into Sonar via the ASIO dest. FL Studio should use the same system.

Thanks Shayne! I have mastered Fruity over the past 2 years, but how hard is that to do? It's such a simple program to use. : ) And sorry about that. I should have been more descriptive.

I'm using Fl Studio Producer Edition 6. Also using ASIO Scope in Fruity. So in Fruity I choose ASIO Scope under Audio output settings. Then in Scope I have 6 ASIO R + L Source running to STM 1632. SEQ Midi Source 1 running to both Min on the mixer and to Pulsar2 Midi A Dest. Mout goes to In SEQ Midi Dest 1. Then MIXR & L going to Pulsar2 Analog Dest.

In the second paragraph that you wrote, what do you mean by you do your processing and then record it back into Sonar via the ASIO dest? Can't seem to get that. Thanks so much!

asio can only be used by one app at a time!
to accomplish what you are attempting, use wav for fl and asio for sonar...

Tobias, I will strongly recommend you to use any sequencer you like, but with ASIO capabilities. FL studio is more a loop machine than a complete environment. I think one could use it as a starting point, but not as a full feature studio sequencer.

I think that the time you will spend learning a best seller complete sequencer package, whichever you’d like, will give you much more fulfillment that you think.

I would recommend for you Ableton 5, as it has features that outperform FL and at the same time, it is a great full sequencer package.

Does FL Studio record audio? If so, you should use it to record your Scope mixes. I was just using Sonar as an example.

If FL Studio doesn't record any audio, then I think it's best for it to use ASIO and then record your audio via WDM/MME into either a stereo-track program like Sound Forge or a multitrack program like Sonar or Cubase.

I don't know much about FL Studio so you'd have to tell me how it works.

Fruityloop can record audio, can use asio1/asio2, can aso use midi in/out and can also create control surface for any creamware synth or devices.

Fruity has lots of very cool features for midi control, like math function on CC# or peak detector that send CC value according to an enveloppe. To name a few

Fruity is NOT a lesser application, it's as good as any other sequencer...And as such, need times to master it properly.

Fruity has more under the hood than it seems.

and I'll email you the project configuration I use for FLS6. You can use asio all the way, Scope and FLS work very well together.

And yes, Fruity has come a long way. I use Logic Pro 7 on my mac, but on the Windows machine, it's FLS all the way.

Fl Studio does record audio(including fancy automation), supports ASIO and IS a pretty much complete sequencer package. In fact, it has a lot of really wacky features that simply don't exist anywhere else. The only area that I can think of where it's still lacking in features is in the video synchronisation department.

I have to admit that it doesn't look like one though. It's interface is different and may or may not work for you, depending on your tastes, work habits and how your brain is wired.

I am for sure outdated with FL, as I have tried it long ago, and found it was rather a toy than a sequencer. Surely things have changed much, thanks for correcting me

When I started using FL, it was at around v2. Back then, it really was mostly a tracker with a few generator modules and sample trigering ability. They rapidly added vst, DX and ASIO support.

What makes this soft great is that they actually listen to their users and implement a lot of new features with each release. Also, take into account the very low price and the lifetime free upgrade policy and you have quite an amazing package.
