So gimmeh, mahh, Scope 4 for OS X NOW!

Hehehe, wicked cool machine, though I realize they will come out with Intel Mac G5 Towers next year, screw it, I already have a windows machine and boot camp as cool as it is, is not a deal breaker for me, if I wanted another PC I would have built one

I plan to use my Scope board via adat from what ever PCIe or Firewire solution I can figure out.

I am new to all this Mac stuff, its wierd, seems the popular choice on a mac is Motu stuff and M-Audio, im no real fan of either, I may just wait till the RME Fireface 400 comes out since the 800 is overkill for what I am looking to accomplish.

Any other G5 usrs in the camp?

Cheers!

Probably worth it to wait for the firewire400 imo (if such things matter to you). MOTU seems kind of dark & husky to me (sonically) and M-audio isn't even in the same class as MOTU imo... I've got a Multiface and an M-audio firewire 410 here, and have used 1010 and motu 828 in the past in studios with the same monitors I use now.

Have to agree with valis - MOTU is amazingly well marketed crap, and M-Audio, well, at least they don't seem to claim that their converters are great. Go for RME.

I will be doing the same thing. I'm looking at the tascam thingy cause it's cheap. It will get me by for a while. I'm waiting till something nice comes out (please let there be an OSX compatible CW firewire DSP solution in the works).
