loopah - an infinite looping delay

loopah.zipRequires: Modular 3
In reply to ds-sound's topic, an infinite looping delay with:

- automatic input detection and 'record' function,
- tempo controlled delay times up to 8 seconds as it is, add delay modules as you need longer loops,
- a freq switch that instantly halves or doubles loop time,
- ...

Image

Could be fun to add after the 12dB module:

- a pitcher,
- amp modulation, to chop or simulate sequencing on pads,
- filters,
- or just to plug in a guitar and play, untill you just come across this kewl part, then listen to the loop like forever, just as with real instruments

A feature I'd like to add if I knew how to, is some sort of tempo circuit that one could tap in. Some auto loop detection that would adjust to the tempo being played or to foot taps would be nice for the real live players

Have fun,

at0m.

A zero-crossing detector would be nice so the loops don't "pop"

on the record/playback switching you cannot have clicks, only gaps if the attack/release settings are too high. Set them as low as possible depending on incoming stream.

I could make a circuit that fades out and in again real fast when switching loop length, so these clicks would disappear - if that's the clicks you mean...

ps. tried it on speech? you can make it totally gibberish

I am going to give this one a real go.

I only tried it once so far and I can hear the possibilities. Right up my "randomiser" alley.

Thanks, at0m

at0m,
What is the -F2B- tab you have up top, I am curios. I would like to have J9K, and Zarg RD tabs on mine. Is this a special SDK trick? Cause I think my folders must be misplaced or something.

I briefly explained how to do that here

at0m, is it O.K. for you, if I'd try to rebuild your device in SDK? Surely there would be your name on it. I would try to copy it 1/1.

Hi,

Of course you can use this as an example to make a device. Wouldn't try a 1:1 though, since more efficient routing can be done in the SDK.

Have fun

Great, thank you!
I will work 100% with SDK modules, so it won't be 1/1. You will be able to use it without having Modular II on board. More efficient routing? I'll have to learn a lot more...

I'm allready in progress and solved some problems... Is it musically O.K. if values for delay are not correct in 0,x millisiconds?
Somehow I have little problems with multiplying values correct, but I think, if the device will loose 10ms in 3 minutes it should be O.K....

Martin
