Hello!

I have recently "discovered" the use of the "External Effect" is SFP and I find it extremely useful! I have hooked via SPDIF my TC G Major guitar effects rack.

What I miss from the current SFP External Effect is a Send and Receive Level knob and two meters. Currently, in order to overcome this, I use a "Channel" device before the "External Effect" in order to to set the Send Gain. For the received level, I use the Gain knob on the STM mixer channel; but when I have the External Effect as a mixer channel insert, there is nothing I can do to set the receve gain.

So, an External Effect (in both Mono and Stereo versions), just like the ones of Creamware, but with the addition of Send/Receive Level knobs and 2 small meters, would be really useful for me and maybe for others too!

What do you think?

P.S. The meters should be small, like 6 green leds, 3 yellow and a red overclip one. And there should be a highest peak level indication with small red letters, like in the creamware mixers. This is my vision! I wish I knew how to make it myself!

a usefull idea!
I use the external fx for my lexicon reverb, and before the Psy-Q age the SPL Vitalizer.

have you tried the external master effect devices?

yes I did

It almost has everything I want. The only thing that it doesnt have is a Send Gain knob.

By the way, my TC G Major is 24-bit and Scope is 32-bit. Should I dither down to 24bits before sending audio to the TC via spdif?

you don't need it, because the 32 bits is only for internal processing, but the digital output of scope cards is 24 bits.
