NEW UPDATE-PACK WILL ARRIVE SOON!

Here comes a very nice looking and simple device for my friend "Shilo". It's a Hi/Lo pass Filter with very nice GUI.

Bytheway: it has a special sound too, but that's a secret ;o)

"Messer" means in german also knife.
"Messen" means to measure.

Martin

P.S. I've not packed in zip. Use right mouse click!

Photo is copyrighted (as with all of my photos ;o)). I made it in a very old "Zeche" in the german "Ruhrgebiet"

Edit:
I posted UPDATES in a new tread, because old versions are still useful in some situations (low DSP-resources) because the calculation will be distributed on different DSPs.

Great stuff!

What about the MIDI controllers? Make the right mouse knob activated to let us record the controllers via external source.

Thanks

Little tip for your new device

Multimode Step Filter ( 16 seq + tempo sync )

Thanks!
That's something I did not think of so far.
Tested it and it works in Mixer or MultiFX. So it has to do something with the general "midification" of a device.

I don't know how to activate midi controllers in SDK, maybe someone could give me a hint?

Sorry to say that but i've found some phase problems with your devices using as an insert into STS mixers but even as "standalone".
It's a common problem of various free scope plugs,i've found it switchin the signal from stereo to mono with my PRESONUS CENTRAL STATION (a professional monitoring rack system).
I've found that not only stereo but even a mono signal routed into SHILO suffer of that problem...your stuff it's really interesting but with these problems is useless for me...
Regards.

P.S. Seems that in some plugs and in some scope systems the board's copy protection causes phase issues as said by Digitalaudiosoft guy.

Some Shilos are quite heavy on DSP, so I think it depends on the distribution of the code on DSPs which I can't influence... can I? Maybe there was a setting for putting all algos in one DSP. I will see later. Could you try, if problems occure with the extra-light version of Shilo? If yes, there is no help.

tested it:
used it stand alone, as insert in multieffect, in MULTIknott, in mixer ...

Mono input on L&R, used phasefix on out just to invert one channel (NO CORRECTIONS ON SAMPLE - DELAY USED) then mixed L&R out to mono

ABSOLUTE SILENCE. ZERO. NULL.
= no phase - problems.

Even the big SHILO had no problems at all. BTW. This has nothing to do with a special monitoring-system. I mixed L&R
phaseinverted in pulsar and the results were always total silence.

Did you try this IN your Scope environment? Could you send a project, where you get these problems INSIDE Scope?

I will do some more tests tomorrow, but I can't find any phase problems here so far.

Martin

EDIT: I still have much to learn! Look next posts...

I will do some tests tomorrow...
Anyway it's a bit strange that if i switch to mono with shilo bypassed i got no phase issues!

hi kwild,

have you tested the new demo of our plug ,only the 5 we are going to sell ?(they are new demo)
i have made lots of test to understand why there are sometimes ,some phase problem and now it's ok for us,even with demo protection.

mccyrano,

in sdk, you have lots of "small" and/or "hidden" parameters (i don't find the good word because i'm french...)they are very important for resolve phase problem.

I forgot: I think there must be Phase-issues, when you mix Shilos out with original signal (because I don't believe, that the used filters are phase-linear).
Concerning LR-mixedup-Phase-problems I had them too with other devices and I bet there are in certain cases Problems with Shilo too.
In my todays testings I found some intersting things and I will go deeper in it.

For now I will add a "Phase-Tester", in this device-section. It inverts L and mixes up with R, inverts R and mixes up with L. (O.K. one of both processes would have been enough, but I just did it that way.)

Out-signal should be 0.

Martin

P.S. It's the only way to go ahead, when people put their comments on the devices, so that I can improve them!!! I like this very much: working on problems.

@ digitalaudiosoft

could you name such parameters? - that would be helpfull..., but I think I know, which you're talking about.

O.K. got it.
Filled my whole DSPs with (the single but most DSP consuming) Shilos and yes, with more than - I didn't count - 12 to 20 instances, there were phase-problems.

I solved this problem with a "hidden parameter" but now you can (on my 23-1 DSP-system) only load 22 Shilos... One should assume, that there is logic behind that ;o).
Yes, and with this logic and the "hidden parameter" it should be easy to improve the device further... but also a bit time-consuming.

Martin

I'll post updated versions (not the optimized ones, but the phase fixed) of some modules in the next days, but I will be on holiday (in france) next week, so don't expect it for sure. I'm just having fun with SDK, but I feel I have to solve problems, which others adress, because I want you to have fun too ;o).

Martin

BTW: This does not mean, that a SHILO eats up a whole DSP. I could fill the project with DYNAmyths up to the end of my DSP-meter (these were quite a lot ;o)) (I did not test them concerning phase-coherence, but as they're not optimized, there could be problems too.)

Edit:
UPDATES posted in a new thread.

I've done some tests this morning (with the old versions of the plugs of course) and i've found that i got no phase issues with SHILODEZIPMIDLIGHT.
In the next days i'll do some tests with updated versions too.

For Digitalaudiosoft, sorry but im really busy with a production actually so i can't test your updated plugs...i try to done some tests in da next days...

Best regards to all.

P.S. Just for info my scope system is composed by :

1 Pulsar II (2nd generation)
1 XTC
1 Powerpulsar

for a total of 28 dsp's (or 26?I don't remember now!).
