Well assuming this is a device you'd like to see then let's just say it'll always use CPU as the samples need to reside somewhere and there's no RAM for that on the SCOPE cards.

the sts samplers read sound fonts and there are a lot of multisamples (inspired to a lot of old synths) out there.
A sampler with an integrated multieffect could be very handy anyway...
