I am looking 4 a monitor mixer, or a remedy where I can send out 5 seperate mixes from SFP to 5 seperate wireless ear monitors. Any ideas are welcome, such as double mixer project, etc.

I don't know if I've understand exaclty what you have to do, but you could use the stm48S which has a lot of outs (it is a surround mixer); then, if you want to hear them separately, you need at least 3 boards and you have to load the Analog dest of every board inside your project.

Hope it helps

How about using a couple of micro-mixers?

Not sure what you mean by '5 seperate mixes', but using an external multi-channel headphone amp would be your best bet if you simply want 5 duplicates of the mix. Otherwise you're gonna lose 10 outputs from your Scope rig.

I got mine, a RANE Mojo 4-channel off ebay for £30 good as new, and it does a great job.

Let me better explain the need for this scenario. I have a few sponsers, the Ultimate Ears sponsorship is my immediate concern, 4 I will be fitting 5 people with custom in your ear bi-amped stereo wireless ear monitors. These are of the highest quality and I need to send each person wearing them a custom mix, i.e. less snare, more lead vox, more kick, etc, etc. I will train someone how to change the settings for these little husseys, 4 I can guarentee you I will not be the one who gets shit on when someone misses a high note or something. I have worked in all females bands before, and they have been professional, and talented. These girls have one very talented singer and the rest should be in Lingerie catalogs or something. At any rate I will need 5 seperate stereo sends, plus the regular mix out L and R, and I'm sure that should cover it. I do have 2 headphone rack mounts, the Behringer Powerplay Pro XL's, don't yet know if I'll need them, but I bought the both of them 4 150 USD last year 4 rehersal purposes. I will check out the 48S and BTW guys, thanks 4 your replies, I thought this gig would be a fast and easy buck, NOT. Fine trim always has it's ups and downs, and this is just the beginning in a series of torments I'm afraid. But these girls are getting so much PR, and have appeared on TV spots, so it looks as though I have adopted more children. I shall look into all suggestions, thanks again my Brothas'.

Still, my best bet would be to make a project with parallel Micromixers. Making a bigger mixer than the existing one is one hell of a job.

Some elaboration on a possible project: Suppose you use the STM2448 or STM489, with Aux Effects loaded outside as main mixer. Now load a bunch of MicroMixers, connect the stuff you want to monitor to their inputs - be it busses of the STM mixers, synths or hardware sources, or even Aux FX returns. Connect their outputs to the hardware phone outputs. Set up the individual levels. Done.

Lots of wiring in the project, visuals in the project window can be made more aestethic by connecting inputs of one Micro Mixer which gets from the main STM mixers' sources to the other Micro Mixers, then dragging them collectively outside the Project Window to the right or bottom. Then you only have one set of abundant wires tapping of from the STM inputs and you can view the Micro Mixers by scrolling (drag the side or the bottom bar), and you can prepare a reasonably clean project beforehand. Then you don't need to see all the screen cluttering wiring during the performance. Another way to keep a clean project, which I prefer any time when working with hard- or software inputs at least, is to use the External Source Devices. SFP allows for loading a bunch of the same of those simultaneously.

If anything remains unclear, just come again and so will I

[edit] Replacing Sources by Dir Outs from the STM mixer to the Micromixers, then hiding the Dir Outs, also removes the wiring from the Project window!

at0m,
This sounds like a great work around. I will be trying it out and let you kmow how it works. This SFP DAW will be stricyly 4 mixing and FX which will go to wireless headsets and such. Thanks 5 your analytical process. I sat for 2 days and tried this. I didn't rhink deeply enough.

Thank You,
